The Star Inn

A very clean and more intimate way of staying in Cape May than the big grand resorts or the motels. I found it both very peaceful (1-2 min walk from the beach) and in the heart of things (equally close to most of the excellent food places and shops in the area). The innkeeper was fantastic. I never use concierge services while travelling but touched base with her twice a day as a solo traveler new to the area simply because she was so helpful and kind without being overbearing. The café is enough to grab a quick meal or drink if needed but small enough not to disturb you with foot traffic noise if you're in the rooms above it during operational hours. Everything was cleaned to my liking. If you like cozy, you'll like this place, if you like sleek modernism or minimalistic interiors this isn't the place for that. I loved it, it was very 'Cape May' and tastefully done. This was honestly an absolute dream of a place for me - I could never afford it if I hadn't stayed in the off-season, but the service was top-tier anyway and if I ever have the money, I'm staying here for a week minimum.

Loved this place! We usually stay at Congress Hall but tried this sister property across the street. It was so cute! Right in historic area so can walk to beach and the Mall with all of the stores and restaurants. We had a little porch w rocking chairs. The room was so clean and decorated beautifully. Had a little living room with a kitchenette and the separate bedroom. I will definitely book here again!!!

We had a very positive experience.. room was clean, close to the beach and steps away from downtown shops.

It was so close to the Washington Mall and still felt private when we were in our rooms. The ocean view room had a lovely view and both rooms we had were super comfortable. We were only there for one night so it was great to be so close to everything and have such lovely amenities. Having our rooms freshened before bed was such a nice touch
