Marriott Review I travel a lot and stay in pretty nice hotels. Marriott was always in my top 3 but after this trip, completely dropped from my list. Before I get into the hotel, I must say the staff is super friendly, helpful, & cordial. I enjoyed them immensely, unfortunately…not the same can be said for my stay. Upon walking into my room my shoe almost stuck to the floor due to some sticky substance that was on the floor. The staff immediately sent someone up to clean it but why was it there in the first place? This IS supposed to be the Marriott & not Motel 6 right? Next, I open the fridge to store my drinks & the shelves have puddles of water on them? I disregarded this because I’m tired & just got in. As I’m watching tv, I pull this table tray next to me to put my food on. It’s rusty like it’s been sitting on the balcony in the sea air. Again, I didn’t mention it to the staff because I can’t change rooms. It’s Christmas Eve & they are sold out. It gets worst as the water is slow to drain in the sink as I’m brushing my teeth. This is NOT the Marriott I’m used to! I stayed 4 days and on the afternoon of my last day, I’m taking a nap & awake to the walls vibrating in my room! I knew they were doing construction in the lobby when I first checked in but I’m on the 2nd floor. So now I’m up but it’s so bad I can’t hear my tv. I go down to complain & greeted by 4 other guests complaining as well. I actually felt sorry for the lady at the desk because she was getting hammered. With all said, I’m a little disappointed in the Marriott & the accommodations. I actually went out & purchased a keurig because Marriott doesn’t offer free coffee 24/7 for guest in there lobby. They have a Starbucks kiosk that you can “purchase” some. For what I paid for a room you can’t give me a cup of coffee? The coffee maker in the rooms looks like something out of the 70s. No one uses them due to health scares. Unfortunately, this is my last stay at Marriott chains. It’s time to stop being cheap and upgrade to 2026!

Renovations were loud during the day and blocked off an elevator. Fumes from the new carpet, glue or something, triggered my asthma. The first room smelled like mildew and sour laundry so we had to move. The thermostat in room#2 had a mind of it's own and switched to air condition when it was clearly set on heat! Guests need to know about potential hazards so they can make informed decisions.

The staff was helpful. The view was beautiful, especially the sunrise!

Frightening elevator sounds and smells, with tape and cardboard covering the door and walls, when finally released for use from the renovation workers. Woke up frezzing in the middle of the night when the thermostat just switched from heat to cold on it's own! And NO, there were no children in the room! The indoor pool then closed 30 min early and I couldn't get my laps in (90% of the reason I stayed here in the 1st place!

It was a very comfortable clean I enjoyed the boardwalk and the ocean view
