We recently stayed at Margaret River Motel for two nights during our holiday in Margaret River. We have stayed here before and generally found it comfortable, which is why we chose it again. However, this time we had a very concerning experience. Our room had an internal connecting door to the adjacent room. In our previous stays, this door was always securely locked, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, on this occasion, around 11:30 PM, someone from the adjoining room was able to open that connecting door and look directly into our room while we were inside. This was extremely frightening and completely unacceptable from a privacy and safety perspective. Even if the other guest opened it by mistake, the door should have been securely locked from both sides or managed by the motel to prevent any access between rooms. After this incident, we felt very uncomfortable and were unable to sleep properly. Situations like this should never happen, and it is the motel’s responsibility to ensure guest safety and privacy at all times. We hope management takes this issue seriously and ensures that all connecting doors are properly secured in the future so other guests do not have to go through the same experience.
