BEAUSiTE Zermatt

I spent hours researching hotels before booking as I was looking for the perfect combination of family -run warmth , higher end comfort, stunning views and a true spa experience. Happily I succeeded! From the moment we got picked up at the train station to the day we departed everything about our stay was exceptional. The staff were genuinely friendly , helpful and always cheerful. Over the course of 5 days we came to recognize familiar faces- a special hello to Kyla and Suzanne , who made us feel especially welcome. Our room was spectacular with a stunning view of the Matterhorn and lots of space to relax and unwind. The layout was thoughtful and luxurious, with two separate bathrooms-one with the commode, and another featuring a large soaking tub and a spacious shower complete with stunning views as well. The room itself was so comfortable and inviting that it was genuinely hard to leave. Every day there was a special baked or sweet treat left in the room. We had cookies, cupcakes and exceptional chocolates. This was an extra touch that made Christmas special. We also used the pull-out sofa bed, which was very comfortable, as was the King bed-complete with the lovely down comforters and pillows the Swiss are known for! Breakfast was lavish and beautifully done, with an impressive selection of various cheeses, cold cuts, breads, yoghurt, juices, cereals, hot omelette station and even an orange press for fresh squeezed juice. Evenings were equally enjoyable, with live music nightly-piano and /or piano singer- creating a lovely atmosphere. The bar was a wonderful place to relax with wine or cocktails while listening to music. The location is ideal for walking into town yet set in a quieter more peaceful area. The spa facilities were outstanding. The pool was large, heated and offered great views and the outdoor pool/hot tub was absolutely fantastic -easily one of the best matterhorn views imaginable. I also had an amazing massage from Peng, and I will absolutely request her again on our return. Xmas dinner was phenomenal and one of our favorite dining experiences of the trip. The desert ( a raspberry mouse in the shape of a raspberry ) was so good we nearly ordered another. FInally, the reservation manager, Roman Ashekowsky went above and beyond to help us secure the room we wanted and truly made this one of my most memorable trips ever. When return to Zermatt, this is the only place I will consider staying. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
