Hotel Silberhorn - Residences & Spa Wengen

We loved staying at this hotel , it was so quiet and peaceful even though it was right in the middle of big tourist attraction. It was right next to station so it was very convenient to travel to Jungfrau mountain or anywhere near by. There were lot of great food options near by in walking distance. Hotel breakfast was good , kids enjoyed it a lot but it had same options everyday without any new options , they should look at adding more variety. Hotel restaurant was good and nice sitting areas for families to relax, play pool or enjoy hot tub. Wellness spa was not available during our stay due to staff unavailable. Hotel staff were nice.

Silberhorn Wengen is a little gem in a beautiful setting .we had amazing view of the mountains from room balcony . If this was a groundhog day then we can't wait for tomorrow

It was a quaint little ski village with plenty of shops and restaurants.

The hotel staff was friendly accommodating. Our room had a balcony overlooking the Glacier. The experience was wonderful. We hated to leave

We booked through Expedia which caused great confusion by noting in large letters ‘STAY In Lauterbrunnen’. Followed up by the Hotel’s name and again in bold type “… WENGEN.” As a result we went to the wrong hotel site the name of our hotel but in Lauterbrunnen. Try the time we finally dragged 3 HEAVY bags on and off the trains to get to Wengen we were an hour of sweat a, anxiety and confusion. Nobody at the hotel seemed surprised or bothered by this VERY frustrating confusion after a trip from Paris that started very early in the morning. Then at when we saw a great table and walked toward it only to have a waiter literally run toward me to make clear that we common folk were not allowed to sit at the best tables… and that we second eaters needed to sit elsewhere. He said only those who ate in the hotel qualified… we did, but apparently eating at the only Hotel restaurant we saw … it faced the front street/ Bahnhofstrasse plaza … that did not qualify. He made clear we were second eaters. Oh also our room was reservation specified we wanted to use3 separate beds. The rollout sofa was OK but no sheets or pillows. So I worked with a hotel employee to make the bed. The nice people at Reception only partly compensated ffor these experiences. The “spa” had little about a “spa” to offer and certainly not a four star rating.

Nice place. Stayed on a Monday and Tuesday night. Limited food options due to several restaurants being closed on Tuesday night. Close access to gondola.

Excellent location right next to Wengen station. However, when we reached Wengen, we noticed there may be other better properties little away from station but also offer transportation service to the station. If we go to Wengen again we will explore those properties as there is less concern to carry luggage to those hotels. Breakfast timing is from 7:30, which was too late for us and perhaps for many other customers as we all were waiting outside the room for them to allow entry at 7:30 am. Wish they change time to at least 7:00am. Breakfast in itself was ok as we had better breakfast at our many other stays during our trip. We booked room with Jungfraujoch view, however room on 2nd floor are very disappointing from that perspective. they do not offer Vally view and Jungfraujoch is perhaps visible from one corner of the balcony. Overall, ok experience. However, we believe with money spent, we could have had better experience in other hotels in Wengen.

I booked a double bedroom suite with 3 twin beds and one double bed and was charged that rate. Prior to arrival the room was paid in full through Expedia. When I arrived with my husband and two children there were only two twin beds in the room. I spent over an hour at the front desk arguing with the rude staff dressed in a T-shirt that was stained that the room I was given is not what I paid for. Long story short they charged me an extra $120 to bring the beds I had already paid for to the room. Under no circumstances do I recommend this hotel. It was awful. No coffee left by housekeeping the second night and we had to leave very early for a flight. There are other lovely hotels in Wengen. Stay far far away from this one.
