The Windsor Hotel

Thte room was so hot we could not sleep. It was probably 30 degrees in the room and with windows open it still got no better. Outside temperatures were approx 15C so half the inside temperatures.

Great location and staff.

Slightly worn out (carpets etc) but we could take our bikes to the room!

We are frequent visitors to the Windsor. We were given room 27, unfortunately on this occasion we walked into the room and ir absolutely stank of cigarette smoke. I went straight down to reception to say I couldn't stay in that room. Receptionist was great and gave us another room. Room lovely and clean, can't beat a night at the windsor. 😁

1st room we were given stank of cigarette smoke. I think if the people cleaning the rooms know it's been smoked it it shouldn't be let out until it has aired out

Room 21 was far too hot and stuffy and the windows can only be opened a crack - what a joke

The hotel was excellent, as close to both beach and centre. Nice clean room and bathroom. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful on arrival. The main building was a bit tired. But for the price as was value for money was very good. Will definatley go again. The most important thing is location and clean bedding. You definatley get that at the Windsor.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Position excellent for the long yellow-sand beach.

The first room we were given had sewage smells in the ensuite and one chair whose seat had collapsed. It was dowdy. The staff kindly moved us to a much nicer room with 3 beds, very airy but the double bed was really small and cramped and curtains not black-out so the room was completely light early in the morning. (It was Summertime.) One bedside lamp was not working, the other far too dim to read by The carpets in the hotel are frayed here and there, the decor is tired, the lift did not work and was not to be working 'any time soon', but the place seemed quite clean. The position is excellent for the beach but in a run-down area. The breakfast was fairly poor. No fruit or yoghurt, the orange juice was supplied in small cheap children's cartons and rather watery. We looked longingly at a real coffee machine. The server saw us looking longingly and explained that it hadn't been working for 5 years. The choice of cereals was poor, the only coffee available in little packets of nescafe. The cooked breakfast was adequate but poached eggs hard both days. Cheap soggy sliced bread for toast. Overall, not good.

Brilliant staff

Room noisy. Doors allowed to be slammed shut. Decor in room very poor damp patches on wall. Bed appeared as thoughit wasn't full double size.
