"Very comfortable stay"

We loved our stay here. Beautifully furnished and the breakfasts we had delivered were delicious. We made good use of the hot tub on the deck overlooking the view of the fields and mountains. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.

"The place to get away from it all"

10.0

If you are looking for a natural and pristine area, this is the place for you! Lovely and isolated. Close enough to Highlands when you want some 'action'...then go back up the mountain for peace and quiet. Matthew and Hiram are attentive without being intrusive. Had a wonderful weekend with my daughters, playing board games, drinking wine, and enjoying each other's company without all the noise and clutter of home.

"Wonderful retreat from hustle & bustle"

10.0

Fire Mountain is truly a place for peaceful relaxation. Keep in mind, however, that it is about 15 minutes of dark curvy mountain road from restaurants, so plan your dinners accordingly! (This was not a problem at all for us.) We stayed in Red Thunder, and couldn't have been more pleased; the inn's website doesn't exaggerate when it describes the views from this room, which are just about the same from the dining area. We LOVED having the library with its comfy sofas and great fireplace just outside our room. We lit the fire every night when we got back from dinner and enjoyed reading, knitting, and just sitting. Breakfasts were delicious and very filling. Don't miss the walk to the "secret waterfall" on the property. Be sure to have lunch at the grocery store in Highlands at least once, and dinners at Madison's and Paoletti's are a must!

Excellent staff and breakfast. Bedding top-notch and comfortable. Outside of the building needs some work, decking needs replacing. Beautiful view on top of a mountain!

"Quiet, out of the way location"

8.0

Fire Mountain is a retreat from the rest of the world. If you are looking for a place away from everything then look no further - no TV, no radio, no clock, etc. It is a beautiful setting with great views but it is about 10 miles from civilization. The entrance leading to the resort is a mile long single lane road straight up the mountain on a very rough, gravel road. Not sure what happens if you meet anyone. In the Inn you are served breakfast which is very good and the staff is very friendly. If you like action, this is not your best bet. If you are a hiking and nature lover, then you will enjoy it.

We loved every aspect of our stay at the Fire Mountain Inn and Cabins. Our "treehouse" was clean, spacious, and just what we were looking for. We are anxious to return again!
