Westgate Historic Williamsburg Resort

The advertized King room was tiny and dark. It looked nothing like the pictures. The carpet was filthy. When I lifted my foot from the side of the bed, my foot touched the wall. The closet fit Hobbits, an half ironing board, iron, hair dryer, safe and suitcase holder but not a coat or dress. The walls were paper thin and there were people next to us. We could hear each other. There were plenty of rooms so it must have been a staffing issue. The bathroom's toilet paper hanger was broken. I texted them because I did not want to be charged. They apologized and asked if I needed more towels. (?) The bathroom had no fan nor screens for the window. It fogged up in seconds. There was no accessable paper unless you fetched kleenex from the tissue box. There was no storage in the bathroom, because it was tiny, for toothbrushes or other toiletries. Everything had to be kept stacked in the bags in the tiny room. There is a gap between the wall and the glass shower wall inthe bathroom that spewed water onto the floor when used. The shower door opened into the wet area, dripping more water. It is a fall hazard. All the electrical outlets throughout the room were loose. The phone charger hung off outlet, which was an electrical danger. The computer charger fell out of the wall. The internet was spotty, at best. There was a lot of buffering. The tiny refrigerator had a useless freezer area covered in frost. My 22 pound dog cost $171 to stay there, which is high. He travels with us everywhere so we thought the hotel would have an area for him outside. There was nothing. No goodies, bags or bed unlike other hotels. There was no outside trash for his poop bags. We had to leave them on the outside window sill until we left. It rained while we were there so there was nothing to do. All activities at the hotel are outdoors. When we arrived, we asked the person at the front desk about helping us with supper, they told us to call ourselves. Do not expect any concierge service. You have been advised.

The hotel is in a great location, with easy access to local attractions. The bed was very comfortable and provided an excellent night’s sleep. Bonus was the washer and dryer in the room. Staff were friendly, professional, and attentive, making check-in and any requests smooth. The rooms and common areas were spotless and well-maintained. Overall, highly recommended for travelers seeking convenience, comfort, and cleanliness.
