Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort

I was literally speechless but I'm going to speak anyway... So I celebrated my birthday on this island with my girlfriend and honestly we left with happy hearts. We got greeted by dancing girls on the water deck, which was unexpected and super nice. We met Raiyan, our butler, our guy was the best, so friendly and professional, love the comfy vibe this guy gave the entire time. We did this 'wishing tag' and a 'tree-planting' thing with Chyno and his team. Chyno’s talk about the island’s self-sustaining cycle, the turtles, and the 'Tree of Life' was beautiful, he showed us more plants around and I remember his line, “keep planting even if you won’t be here to enjoy the result”, that stuck with us. We also made mocktails and coffee with Ricky. We had so much fun, who knew simple ingredients could make such great iced coffee? We were supposed to watch an outdoor movie and do some moon-gazing but they got washed out by rain, so we ended up watching a movie in the room instead. Also planned to do biking and go around the island, but sadly, there's only one bike available, the rest were under maintenance, plus the biking area was limited, so we're no longer interested. It could have been so cool. My 2 tips: 1. Don’t be scared to try anything on the food menu, because everything they serve is delicious! 2. Do all the activities, especially the tree planting, because telling people “I planted a tree on this island” is such a flex. Overall realization: We need to come back. We gotta!

My wife and I stayed 3 days and 2 nights at Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort in Davao, Philippines. We wished we would have booked for a week. From the complimentary boat ride to the island and the awesome welcome off the boat until the boat ride that returned us back to our vehicle in a secured location, we were treated not royalty but intimate family members. The absolute stunning view from the oceanside villa to the friendly warm service at all the restaurants. The actives well there wasn't enough time in the day or our stay to enjoy them all indoors outdoors and water. We most definitely will return for a longer stay.

An excellent luxury resort with 5* customer service. I was there for a friends wedding and stayed with my wife for 5 nights - and everything was really organised & well thought through, from the pick up at the airport, the arrival (with welcome dancers & a fresh coconut drink waiting) to arranging food requirements (I'm vegan so this was tricky but the staff always made sure I had something!) and wedding events. I want to give a special mention to Greg (our personal butler), Lynet (the most incredible masseuse!!!) and Herald (a brilliant waiter) - who all played a role in making our experience so good. I can't wait to come back again and would highly recommend this place too all, there's really something for everyone and you'll enjoy your stay here.

Terrible experience – felt completely cheated by Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort and Agoda! I had booked this hotel for my family from 21st to 22nd September, thinking it was the Dusit Thani Mactan property. When I searched for hotels in Mactan, Agoda misleadingly showed Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort in the results. Assuming it was located in Mactan, I proceeded with the booking. A short while later, I realized that this resort is nowhere near Mactan — it’s extremely far away and not even in the same region. The moment I found out, I immediately cancelled the booking, expecting at least partial understanding or flexibility. But to my shock, both Agoda and Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort flatly refused to issue a refund — not even partial. Despite explaining that the booking was made based on misleading location information, they showed no empathy, no support, and no professionalism. I feel completely cheated and disappointed by both the hotel management and Agoda. This kind of behavior is unacceptable from a brand like Dusit Thani, which claims to be a “luxury hospitality chain.” If this is how they treat their customers, I can’t imagine what kind of service they offer at their property. Be very careful before booking this hotel! The location is remote and confusing, and customer service is terrible. I’ll definitely never book any Dusit Thani property again after this experience.

Food, friendly staff.

I read somewhere stating that Taxes and fees are refundable if you didn’t break anything. When we were checking out, the lady who was at the reception was not aware of this…

No choices of food. Breakfast foods needs warmers to keep it hot all the time. There are times a lot flies

Second visit to this resort, still great staff and very helpful with any requests. So relaxing and choice of dining options is great.

It's rare that the staff of one part of a resort is just so disappointing that they become the focal point of my review, but this is one case. The front desk staff lacks warmth and people skills. Very business-like and unable to apologize for short comings. Not what you expect from an otherwise excellent island resort. Pro-Tip: If you are unable to properly encode a key card and a guest has to walk back to reception at 10PM to get a key he just got from you re-encoded, the very least you could do is look away from your computer screen and apologize. Not once was an apology offered, not by the staff member who encoded the key nor by her manager who attempted to solve the problem but also failed. All I got after the fourth time a key card failed (including the first set of 2 keys we initially received on checking in that afternoon) was "It's a problem with the IT department, I'll speak with them." Not a "Sorry for the inconvenience," which really would have gone a long way. This really fouled an otherwise 5-star experience. Beautiful property, great facilities, good food, comfortable rooms. Very little to do without additional fees, though, but they're reasonably priced.

I love this place so much. The staff were accommodating, the facilities were topnotch, the vibes were so great. We went on a weekday so it felt like we had the island to ourselves. So many food options to choose from and all of them were masterfully prepared. They even prepared a birthday greeting for my mom. I love the personal butler experience since it streamlined everything and made the whole process so convenient. We will definitely come back soon.
