Rooms are great and modern. The breakfast had a wide variety and was well cooked and delicious. The coffee was good. The staff were courteous, fun and helpful. The dinner is amazing, one of the best ramens I have had. It’s a 400m walk to the lifts and surrounded by the local restaurants.

Only thing to improve was a proper drying room to get the boots dry.

They had a friendly feel with guests often congregating around the bar in the evening.. With not a lot to do in Madarao some evenings it was nice to be able to unwind on Woody Hill.

Like them to get their Onsen working.. However, everything was great.

Cosy, spotlessly clean and conveniently located. Kenji makes sure you receive a warm hospitable welcome and that you are well looked after during your stay. Superb breakfast every morning and fresh coffee available through the day. There is also a really great on site bar where you can relax and enjoy a drink or two after a day on the mountain. Highly recommended!

The accommodation was very comfortable and clean with excellent, modern, facilities. Our room had a good view, small lounge, kitchenette (we did not use it), separate sinks in each bedroom (we had an adjoining 2nd bedroom).The team there, led by Kenji were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, a lovely breakfast offered each morning with local bacon, local sausage, eggs, freshly baked muffins, amongst other 'Japanese' options. The evening food was delicious: different offerings on various nights. There's also a bar with a great selection of wines and local ciders. Laundry facilities. Overall a fabulous welcoming and helpful team, great accommodation and location (accessible by bus direct from Iiyama Station, walkable to the first lift at Madarao.

The locks on the rooms make a beeping noise as they open and close, which could be intrusive at night and early in the morning. We mentioned this to the team and they were looking into addressing it.

Relaxed atmosphere. Awesome bread and pastries at breakfast. Great value for the price we paid
