No staff, house keeper call after 5pm, no hair blower in the room. No AC, request for fan was not honnorred

Beautiful buildings and location. There was music and people and life .

It took hours to get a pack and play bed for my baby. I asked several times between 7pm in the lodge and then called at 9pm. and it finally arrived close to midnight. Later I saw that I should have been communicating through text. Perhaps With that system I would have gotten the pack in place sooner. There was a flight of stairs going up to our room and I was with someone who was somewhat disabled and with a baby. These are things that were fine for one night but would have been a problem if we had been staying longer.

Impressive location. Peaceful and fantastic.

Old, and stale.The rooms are absurdly small, with walls so thin you can literally hear your neighbor breathing, not snoring, just breathing. Zero privacy. The kind of hotel that assigns you the worst rooms if you are using Booking instead of making the reservation directly with them. To top it off, on January 1st at 8:00 AM, the cleaning lady walked straight into our room without knocking, telling us to leave. No apology. No explanation. Completely unacceptable. Unbelievable.

Great employees, great fellow guests, amazing setting, historic buildings, mid-century modern guest rooms. I love the larger multi-bed rooms with fireplaces. I love Asilomar and want it to be an available destination forever!

I missed having breakfast brunch in the dining hall (being renovated?), the shower head was sad and bathroom faucet was leaky, but I know it is hard to repair many of these items and maintain the feeling and cohesiveness of the units.

Proximity to nature

Pool closed, room dirty, no cold water from facets, mold in bathrooms, extremely dated and dirty. Unsafe electrical sockets. Stains on linens and curtains.
