Tru by Hilton Monroe

Always stay at Hilton being a rewards member and traveling often but this one…Not so good, most of the staff was helpful but the lady with short hair in the morning when we were checking out was awful and very very rude… The property was poorly maintained. I chose this place bc it was about $40 more expensive than surrounding hotels so I was hoping for a slightly upscale experience, upon arriving the parking lot was filled with trash, the property looked not maintained at all, the walls falling apart, holes, rusty chairs, hand towels for bath towels in the pool, cigarette burn holes in the couches, I really cannot believe they are charging people to stay here it’s a mess. And charging $4 for a Coca Cola and $10 for a bags of chips…insanity!!! Upon leaving they charged me an extra $15/washcloth with a stain on it saying it was my fault they couldn’t get it out… I have blue hair and you only have white towels… what was I supposed to do? Not shower??? The tv didn’t work in our room and the remote batteries were dead. The gym is insanely small and could not hold more than one person at a time. They say they offer breakfast but it’s really some muffins and orange juice not real food at all…The internet went down while we were here also. Positives…They did provide poop bags for dogs outside which was nice. The beds were comfortable but not clean. The soap in the bathrooms smelled nice.

Check in was easy and friendly staff

Bathroom maintenance and cleanliness could be better. Linens and bedding are terrible. "Blanket" was thin and not warm, sheets were thin synthetic fabric and bunches up everywhere.

Hotel was very clean

The room was clean and neat. The staff provided very friendly and courteous service. I would stay here again.

Walls are thin. Other visitors were disrespectful of quiet hours. The hotel was clean and everyone was friendly.

I'll stay here every time i come to Monroe, it was perfect. Loved the pool table in the lobby!
