Hotel Villa Maria

We highly recommend Hotel Villa Maria, in a quiet location up a short hill from the main road and just a few minutes' walk from Sorrento's old town. This is a busy hotel with many guests from tour companies. The main restaurant is the busiest I have ever seen and the staff are amazingly hard-working. Everything operates very smoothly, with great food from a set menu. The poolside restaurant is a la carte. A generous continental breakfast is included, plus limited cooked breakfast. Our room had a safe and a mini-fridge, both of which we found useful. Almost all the staff spoke very good English (much better than our Italian!) and all were friendly, helpful and accommodating.

Location was exceptional. Lobby and salon is very elegant. The pool and pool bar service is very good.

shower in our room was too small. Maybe because we were in the older building. I cannot say if it is the same in both buildings

The property was clean, a little dated. The staff was very helpful. Great location to get to the town center.

I highly recommend this hotel. We stayed here for 7 days and had a wonderful time. The accommodation was very well maintained and clean. A typical rustic Italian hotel. In a very good location.The staff on the front desk always smiling and very informative regarding places to visit and providing us with a timetable for the trains, which we used a lot. We cannot praise the staff in the restaurant enough, they were absolutely amazing. Always smiling and interested on what you had done on your daily adventures. The food in the restaurant was amazing, it was that good we cancelled a reservation we had made elsewhere to celebrate our 32nd anniversary and had dinner in the hotel and at the end of our evening the staff all came round our table with a cake with candles to congratulate us. This was a very nice gesture. We would like to thank:- Luigi,Giuseppe,Rosaria,Antonio,Hasitha,Dilly and Francesco for serving us every day and looking after us.

Excellent close to main attractions & when we did our excursions they picked us up right outside the hotel. Clean, pool is nice , rooftop nice view, breakfast was great 👍

Central location Nice view of the sea

We stayed in the hotel in 2018 & were very happy with it , but the property has become outdated & has not been modernised . The bedside lamp was broken & not fixed , AC worked intermittently, there was no dustbin in the room. The dustbin lid in the bathroom was broken. Things that became annoying after a bit. We asked nicely for it to be fixed - no action was taken. We were disappointed with the hotel this time round & will not be recommending to friends or stay with them again.
