I booked this hotel as we were cycling down the Danube, and was dismayed, at the end of a long day, to find that it was located high on the riverbank. My grumbling turned to joy when we sat down with a glass of local wine on the magnificent patio overlooking a curve of the Danube. Truly glorious! The restaurant was also impressively good, with local specialties like Käsespätzle and Schnitzel unsurpassed.

The photos on booking don't do this place justice. The panoramic terrace is gorgeous! What a place to have a beer after a long day walking on the Danube Trail. The room was very comfortable. Dinner was fantastic in the cellar. Breakfast was definitely on the higher end of ones I had in 3 weeks in Austria.

It took me a few minutes to find someone to check in with when I arrived but I was there right at the start of checkin time so not really a huge deal

We stayed here after biking 80 km and it was well worth the 600 meter hill to get to the hotel. Spectacular panoramic views of the valley and town. I am not a huge fan of schnitzel but the schnitzel at the hotel restaurant was the best I’ve had in multiple trips to Germany and Austria - light, crunchy, flavorful. The breakfast was excellent! The person managing the reception and restaurant is an uber-woman! Very kind!

Wish it wasn’t on such a steep hill but the beautiful panoramic views from the terrace more than made up for the climb.
