Centrella Hotel, a Kirkwood Collection Hotel

Beautiful hotel in an historical house located in the historic center at walking distance from restaurant/cafes, coast walk, beaches. You only have to walk 20 min to get to the Monterey Aquarium and Cannery Row. Nice breakfast, cute furniture and very fine and helpful staff.

The walls are thin between the rooms, you can hear the neighbors...

The property is a quaint victorian building centrally located in walking distance to the water and to all the amenities of Pacific Grove. For anyone who prefers a sparkling minimalist look, this place isn't for you. Its charm is in being a bit old fashioned, comfortable and tweedy. It has a luminous salon with comfortable chairs and serves a free glass of wine in the evenings. Great place when coming in from the damp sea air.

The breakfast was not "wonderful" as described by some. It was minimal and presented without much charm or interest. Ways to improve would be. 1. A self service espresso machine that also does other things like boiling water (not from a thermos), hot chocolate, etc. 2. Instead of the fixed "yogurt parfait" that appears every day, a spread that included all those ingredients separately and also providing healthy bread, jam etc. Not just the fixed bagel and cream cheese. 3. Real juices instead of a colored drink.
