PEACE & QUIET
This is a place with great potential, but the facilities appear to be a bit neglected. While they advertise a heated swim center, the facilities are unattended and this shows in that, for instance, the water is not really quite warm, and the hot tub is not hot at all. The house where we stayed was dated and could definitely use a face-lift. Service upon check-in was excellent, other staff seemed indifferent.
Fantastic! Stayed here for one night while traveling and wished I could have stayed longer. The suite was spacious, clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the lake. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.
We had a fantastic two-night stay at Coolfont Resort! The 2BR cabin was clean, cozy, and exactly what we needed for our family of six. We brought slippers after reading a review about the floors, but everything felt fresh and well-maintained. The forest setting was beautiful, and being so close to town made it even better. The cabin gave us plenty of space, and the kids could be loud without us worrying about bothering anyone. Jonathan and his team were so kind and welcoming, which really made the experience special. We loved the on-site restaurant and the Berkeley Springs Brewpub nearby. Cell service in the rooms was spotty, but disconnecting for a bit wasn’t a bad thing. For the price, it’s hard to beat what Coolfont offers. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!
I was disappointed that the first night they gave us a room with a clearly broken fireplace, and the bed spread had a small stain. The staff were super friendly and very good! The main lodge had a nice fire and great decor.
Never felt so peaceful at a hotel.. the view was tranquil and lovely, I could hear the waterfall from my balcony. The food at the restaurant was just ok, but the room and amenities were great. Would stay again, clean lovely room, slept like a baby.
