I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Spokane Airport and, in many ways, it delivers precisely what the brand promises — nothing more, nothing less. This is an older property, dating to the late 1990s or early 2000s, located a short drive from Spokane International Airport. It’s not the closest airport hotel, but it’s close enough to be convenient. The hotel appears to offer a shuttle service. I saw multiple vans parked outside. The hotel has clearly been renovated over time. Public areas and guest rooms reflect one of the more recent Holiday Inn Express designs. Clean, modern, and utterly generic. It’s sterile and completely forgettable but that’s also the point. In that sense, it’s perfectly on-brand. My room was notably clean — in fact, one of the cleanest Holiday Inn Express stays I’ve had in quite some time. Housekeeping deserves credit for that. Breakfast was standard Holiday Inn Express fayre. Nothing memorable, but nothing to complain about either. That said, a couple of issues stood out. Despite my elite status, there was no upgrade to a king room or even a suite, which was disappointing. Instead, I received a room with two queens facing the highway. Highway noise is considerable as there is poor noise insulation on the windows. More problematic was the HVAC: the room was set to heat at 74 degrees, making it uncomfortably hot and stuffy. It took roughly three hours to cool down. That’s the kind of basic detail housekeeping should be catching between guests. All things considered, this is a perfectly adequate stay — and one you’ll likely forget almost immediately. In this case, that’s not a criticism. It means the hotel is doing exactly what a Holiday Inn Express is designed to do.

The room, bed, shower was all subpar for the price.

The staff went above and beyond (especially Ashley) to help our sleep deprived family get taken care of after our rerouted flights. They coordinated the shuttle for our large group, breakfast was great!
