Crowne Plaza Hobart by IHG

Lovely large bed, all bathroom facilities provided. Beautiful view of the harbour. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

We were disappointed the revolving restaurant was closed the night we stayed. We had been recommended to visit so maybe next time it will be open.

We didn't have the breakfast as we were going to the airport the next day. We'd been to the Crowne Plaza 3yrs ago so I knew what to expect with the valet parking, and how it worked etc. The room was spacious enough for our needs and the wifi was good. We could stay in the reception area after check out til it was time to leave. Not much else to say really for one night.

The fact that for a building that size 2/3 lifts worked, so at busy times you'd have to leave extra time to get to where you wanted. I thought AUD40/night for valet parking was expensive, but on the other hand, I've not got anything to compare it to. Plus I cannot remember what I paid 3yrs ago.

The lift was slow and a little frustrating

Don’t stay at this hotel on a Friday night if you like sleep. We stayed for 2 nights to finish off our trip to Tasmania before flying home but the hotel is next to/on top of a night club that had live music Friday night that we could hear even in our room on level 8 and less loud music Saturday night. I was going to request to move rooms but read similar reviews where people were moved to the other side of the hotel and it was just as bad so didn’t bother. Check in was quick but dropping the car off for valet at check in meant we had to do a few laps of the block before a space to stop near the hotel was available. Cars are taken off site and you’re asked to give 30mins notice when you wish to use it so just something to keep in mind. The hotel has 3 lifts but one was out of order for the duration of our stay and on two occasions had to open the lift door with our hands when it arrived on ground floor. The room had all the usual things you come to love about a reliable brand and the room was spotless.

Balcony bar was lovely, music was good, comfortable bed and room - good location

Breakfast doesnt have much variety - same same same as all hotels with the hot meals every day - need a couple of chef specials did like the cold serving of fruits and berch muesli - though the sweets which looked good was dry - really liked the fresh juice shots
