They were doing construction.

The cafe in the hotel has historically been sub-contracted to an outside party but recently has been run by the hotel. This is relevant because it means the prices are extremely reasonable, which is truly uncommon these days. The food is mediocre at best, but there is a wide range of baked goods.

The beds are honestly rock hard and the rooms have been neglected since the hotel was built. There are cubbies that don't make sense and are left open, for example. They are doing some renovations currently and hopefully this will be addressed, though it's likely the prices will skyrocket.

Location! Right by the ocean and local shopping!

They were under renovation while we stayed here, it was slightly annoying to access your hotel room through all the construction but it is what it is. The room we stayed in was dated, but had everything you needed

Bed very comfy, good chairs and good lights for reading. Door opening cards worked quite well.

Laminate floors poor quality so noisy walking on them as they crackled, had to get help to find the wall heater, bathroom needs a counter for women to put the makeup, brushes and combs etc on so I had to finally move a round wood table in there, coffeemaker was not working, fridge door swings the wrong way, two people so not enough white sugar left everyday, honey would have been great to have.
