HELPFUL STAFF, PARKING PLACE RESERVED, AS REQUESTED. BUFFET BREAKFAST FIRST DAY, A LA CARTE SECOND DAY, FIRST DAY IT WAS THE END OF A GROUP BREAKFAST & CLEARED AWAY AS WE ATE BUT A LA CARTE WAS FINE, ODD SET UP.

I found the reception staff not friendly at all !! None of them in my opinion should greet their guests with ‘Good morning welcome to tides hotel with a smile and feeling acknowledged It’s like they are so efficient they have forgotten to smile and make us feel welcome. Housekeeping staff very friendly

Very close to town with awesome views of the Maitai River. Some staff were accommodating and welcoming. Parking can be quite tricky at times, but we still managed to get some free parking slots everyday. Breakfast was great! The overall aesthetic was cute and unique.

The glass cover at the shower/tub needs to be either extended or changed. The water splashes after showering or using the bath creates a puddle that goes even outside of the bathroom which is a safety hazard for guests of all ages. The sink, despite looking aesthetically pleasing, also doesnt catch as much water when you use it to wash your face etc. so it also creates a puddle. I’m not sure but I feel like the bathroom setup needs to be changed to make it less of a hazard. This is the only issue I can find. Apart from this, definitely a great hotel to stay in Nelson.

Not a lot really

Our first room smelt of sewerage, when mentioned it to staff, which also smelt it, we were certainly treated differently, not so very friendly! When moved upstairs there was no offer of any help to move, we are both senior citizens and I have a mobility disability, so my poor husband had to make several trips on his own. Also the shower mat was covered in black mold!!!! We don't normally splash out on two nights away, but it was our Granddaughters 21st birthday on Saturday and my birthday on Sunday so decided to have a lovely weekend away. We will certainly NEVER book into the Tides again.

Vibrant hotel close to the city centre for access to shops, food options and entertainment. Very friendly staff who are happy to help and make your stay super comfortable. There is access to a local gym which I really value.

Very comfortable

Booked a last minute night in hotel. Customer service was ok. The stay seemed nice. The problem took place the following day after check out. They removed additional money out of my bank account without letting me know what this was for. When queried, they said I had used items from the mini bar which hadn’t been paid for. This was not the case. When I asked for the money to be returned they completely ignored the request.
