Globales Costa Tropical

Sitting by the pool on our last few hours before leaving to go to the Airport I thought about our time here at the Costa Tropical. There's many positives. The staff are, generally speaking, a great bunch, hard working, polite and quite happy to chat with the guests. Speak a little Spanish with them and they really seem to react positively to that. I particularly thought the restaurant staff were brilliant, especially the lady with the dark hair who we got a smile from everyday. The pool area was fine, plenty of sun loungers to go with the fabulous sunny weather we had. The All inclusive package was typical Globales. It can be a little repetitive, however, the paella was fantastic, the chicken tikka masala very tasty and the Mexican themed food was perfect. The chap in charge of entertainment is a smashing host and tries to engage with everyone at some point. A credit to the hotel. Also the lady in the gift shop was a lovely chatty person. She was so nice to talk to. Negative stuff can be very much a personal thing but we did miss not having air con in the bedroom, the room furniture a bit old and basic. The light on the corridors at night are sensor controlled which is a good thing but the one outside our room was constantly on which meant our room was lit up when we were trying to sleep. Minor irritation. The hotel location is in a fairly quiet spot but a short 5 euro taxi ride gets you down to the beach and many shops. So not too bad really & if you prefer its easy to walk there too. Finally, a special mention to the 2 hotel cats. My daughter loved them and had them watching Cat TV on You Tube. I think they understood!

Hotel is ok, best thing is the pool. Staff can be friendly. Food is a hard pass. But if cold tasteless and the same thing over and over is your style then this is the place for you. Cleaning is very lacking. Same paper cup on stair well all week. Tap in bathroom dirty on arrival. Cleaner only makes bed in main bedroom. No refreshed tea mugs or clean mugs given all week. Bathroom sinks or shower not cleaned unless you do it. Room not swept all week. Entertainment was one bloke (who is lovely) walking round asking if you want to play pool or darts. Nothing for children. No real night time entertainment as again same bloke walking around. Outside of hotel, there is dog poo everywhere. Holiday cost us 900 each for the week. Spent more than that on food and snacks to feed the family this week. Definitely won’t be back. Which is a shame as this could be a lovely place.

I arrived around 9.30pm to be met by a very welcoming member of the reception staff, check in was fast and easy. A lovely gesture, as I arrived after the meal time, I was given a "goodie bag" containing a sandwich, water and fruit which was very much appreciated. My room was on 2nd floor of the hotel. I entered the room a little cautious after reading some of the reviews. I should not have doubted the "good ones"!! The room was spacious, spotlessly clean fresh and comfortable. For me, the beds were perfect. In the room was a bedroom, bathroom with hairdryer, a small shelved area in lounge area with a kettle and proper mugs!!!! A fridge, TV and very comfy sofa that could double up as an extra bed. The balcony was ample big enough for the table and 2 chairs leaving room to easily move around. The pool and surrounding area was beautiful. Yes there are tiles that have been replaced because of wear and tear, that do not match, but this would not spoil anything. Loungers were comfortable and plentiful. The guys that work the pool bar work so hard as there is only ever one serving at a time. Drinks were generous in measures and tasted great. Food was as expected for an All Inclusive Buffet, I had nothing at all to complain about. There was always choices and if the food was not hot enough a microwave is provided. Tables were quickly cleaned once people had left. At all times, ALL staff were pleasant, smiley and always happy to help and advise. I was a solo traveller and felt safe, secure and welcomed the whole time I was there. Again, thank you to all of the staff for being so pleasant, I could really see the effort you are making and the patience you demonstrate with visitors. I will, be returning at some point.

Lo tarde del desayuno, al empezar a las 8:30 no pude usarlo habiendolo pagado, si vas por vacaciones me parece buen horario, pero cuando viajas por negocios y tienes citas a primera hora, pues no se disfruta. Quizas una ronda nocturna por habitaciones, ya que en el bloque A por la noche habia algunas personas tomadas y gritaban hasta mas 0:30

So relaxing. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Was a bit dubious after reading reviews. Lovely clean room. Facilities perfectly adequate. Best power shower ever. Could do with makeup mirror in bathroom. Hair drier great. Very friendly guests. Food great for us . Pool area amazing. Cold but so refreshing. Entertainment very good Jordy. Great very professional great fun. Drinks fine. All Facilities clean. All !!. Staff brilliant could not do enough . We stayed in room 213. And will definitely be back. Thankyou so much for making our stay so enjoyable. Annie& Doug.
