"GREAT hotel in the wine region"

Superb in every way. Staff, room, swimming pool, ambience. Great restaurants in the town of Los Olivos. Do avoid the restaurant in the hotel, Petros. It is under separate management than the hotel and is ghastly. The Fess Parker Inn couldn't be bettered (though pricey).

"very nice hotel in walking distance to everything "

Room was great - very nice and quiet. Besides the squeaky bed it was quite comfortable. Only rated it a 4 because of the bad service in their restaurant. For dinner the busboy took our order (after waiting for 15 minutes) because the server was "busy" when only 2 other tables were visible. Came down at 7am for breakfast and the place was dark. Finally found busboy and he informed us he'd need another 10 minutes. Coffee was out for free but no creamer of any kind. When breakfast was served the scrambled eggs were cold and overcooked. No toast. No music/ambiance. Tried it again the next morning, waffle comes out without fruit (asked for strawberries) or whipped cream. Just plain and barely warm. One evening we ordered room service for an entree and a salad. The guy brings it up with no silverware...just the 2 plates. No ketchup for the fries. No salt/pepper. No water. I don't get it! These are simple details. How could it be so bad? So I would go there again to stay but never go to the restaurant again. It's really too bad.

All good up in little Los olivos Quiet, clean, nice big room by the pool Breakfast was excellent and they found the glasses I left on the table. Recommended for anyone headed to the area
