Holiday Inn Express Elk Grove West I-5 by IHG

The oatmeal, and the cinnamon available with it. My husband liked the cinnamon rolls - lots of cinnamon, not too much frosting - perfect for him. We arrived Saturday and Antwon on Front Desk duty was helpful. We also liked the responsiveness of Mike, the maintenance man Monday morning. He spoke English clearly and could understand our issues, and he could respond to them. After the previous day's experience, this was noteworthy. He was HELPFUL!

Communication was TERRIBLE!! All day and evening Sunday the front desk clerk could not help. There was a significant language barrier problem. Sunday afternoon the clerk on duty told my husband to see the manager Monday when he complained about the air conditioning. The clerk said could do nothing. Sunday evening my husband complained again about the air conditioning to a different clerk. In response the clerk Sunday evening gave him two new key cards to our room. He apparently had no idea what was being asked. He did offer us a different room, but we were too tired to do that by that time (about 9:30 pm). Our first morning the oven was not working, so we made do, but were disappointed, especially my husband. Because the oven wasn't working the first morning, we arranged to go out the second morning for breakfast with a local family member. That cost about $100. Later that day (Monday) the manager, Sophie, told us she had come in Sunday afternoon to ensure the oven was fixed. We were NOT TOLD that the oven had been fixed until we saw Sophie in the afternoon after we had gone out for breakfast. I wrote out 4 pages of problems we had encountered, took pictures of my writing, gave the original to Sophie and agreed to a potential one-night refund. Sophie stipulated that I had to go through Booking.com to get it. That did not exactly make sense to me, but I did not argue about that. Booking.com verified her statement. Mike, the maintenance man told us that the gals that clean the rooms don't tell him about the problems they see in the rooms, seemingly due to language barrier issues. I think Sophie said employees speak 5 different languages. I made a suggestion to help with this challenge.

Air conditioning was terrible noising and interrupted the entire family sleep

The staff were top notch. Very professional. I was having oral surgery a couple hours from home so needed a hotel to recoup in before driving home the next day. The room was very clean and quiet. The air conditioner kept the room cool and was very quite. WIFI was great. Was able to watch YouTube and Netflix with no issues. Loved the pillows. Having a fridge and microwave in the room was very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

I have not complains about the hotel staff everything was good. Property conditions our bathroom have a leak on the shower all water was getting out and also was a little noice the cleaning

Breakfast was good, pool was clean and kids loved it.

The bath tubs were not draining and were pretty nasty. Staff was super nice, but the tubs need updgradinf or cleaning. My feet are itchy and breaking out now, and i used the towels and sandals trying to stay "safe" but the water would just pool in the tub... nasty.

Place was nice and clean, but I found That the electrical outlets were all in weird places and didn’t fit the hotel furniture as far as spacing. Shower had almost zero water pressure so my shower was ridiculously long and the opposite of relaxing or refreshing, same with bathroom sink faucet.

Property was clean felt safe and was surrounded by many stores near by.

This felt like a quiet place since it was surrounded by grassland. There's nearby restaurants and gas. It felt like a great place for myself and my family.
