The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort

The Taaras is possibly the most beautiful resort you could stay at. This is reflected not just by the property and the location but also by the people and the food. It's a 5* with an experience. The hotel really is beautiful, the sand is like silk and the water is warm and clear. Rooms: 5/5 - We had a garden suite sea view and it was beautiful. I beach cabin with all the amenities. It's nothing flashy inside, but it's a beach cabin, what more can you expect?! The bed was comfortable, the rooms were spacious, it was clean and had AC. It was very comfortable. Service 5/5 - The service reflected the status of the hotel. Mei looked after every need and requirement we had, including sourcing baby wipes on the island when we ran out. She kept us up to date on activities on the island and ensured our daughter was catered for. Including a surprise birthday arrival cake. Everyone from Eddie, who helped us with the luggage, to the gents at the beach bar who made amazing cocktails, Saffiyah who always served us and always came to say hello. Big shout out to Chef Affendi who catered amazingly for our daughter who is 1yr old and cannot have salt and sugar. He went out of his way to make her meals and ensure she was fed on time! We can't thank you enough for this. Food/Drinks: 5/5. Possibly some of the best chicken curry ive had with our roti canai ANYWHERE! The food at breakfast was amazing and so was lunch and dinner. Everything was flavoursome and fresh.The cocktails at the beach hut were also awesome. Amenities: 5/5 The one thing they lacked which all other hotels provided was a bottle steriliser; however, Chef Affendi did sterilise our bottles every day using their microwave so there was no issue. The hotel caters for everything and everyone. We played tennis, pool, table tennis, carom, we swam with turtles, our daughter got to release baby turtles, we visited the SPA, we bought ice creams and the list goes on…

とにかく海が綺麗で、山に挟まれた湾が美しかった。レストランは3種類あり食事も美味しかった。シュノーケリングツアーも快適で、部屋も古いけど綺麗でした。スタッフの親切、フレンドリーさは素晴らしかった。

建物が古く、シャワーのスイッチをつけていてもお湯が出なかった。朝になると羽アリの死骸がバスルームと玄関にいっぱい入っていた。 2泊4人でRM6400もしたのでコストパフォーマンスが非常に悪いと感じた シュノーケリングツアーでタオルと水を自分でボートまで運ばされたのは初めてです。プールは小さかった。

The beach was great - fine sand, clear blue waters and warm. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was spacious and well air conditioned and little box of chocolate treats delivered every afternoon was a nice touch

Unfortunately we were not able to snorkel off the beach due to weather and tide conditions but this is not predictable. There was live music at The Cove but the speakers were way TOO loud as you could barely hear the person sitting next to you. Drinks and food on the pricey side but we were expecting that…

Resort situato su una spiaggia di sabbia bianca finissima con acqua cristallina! Il resort è veramente bello e dotato di ogni comfort. Personale professionale, gentilissimo e sempre a disposizione, a tutte le ore. Ci sono un paio di ristoranti sulla spiaggia a disposizione per pranzo e cena (oltre al bar), tra cui da menzionare particolarmente il ristorante Italiano: pochi piatti ma cucinati bene. Colazione a buffet nel ristorante principale buonissima. Il bar “The cove” sulla spiaggia offre tutto il giorno un eccellente servizio con chiamata a bottone da sotto l’ombrellone e ottimi cocktail. Le Garden view suites sono belle e accoglienti, con comodo accesso sulla spiaggia. Abbiamo provato anche le Cliff Bay view suites e sono spettacolari con una vista mozzafiato! Appartamento molto grande e spaziosissimo. Bellissima la vasca jacuzzi vista baia! Nel resort c’è anche un centro escursioni; organizzate molto bene, soprattutto le immersioni. Ottima esperienza!

Posizione Personale

Andrebbe un po ristrutturata Le palazzine sulla scogliera sono un po troppo incombenti sul paesaggio Meglio inseriti i bungalow sulla spiaggia

Je ne laisse habituellement jamais de commentaires négatifs, mais au vu du tarif payé (plus de 400€ la nuit), je ne peux pas passer cette expérience sous silence. L’hôtel est extrêmement excentré : il n’y a que deux routes sur l’île, ce qui rend les déplacements très compliqués. Il n’y a aucun taxi, et il est très difficile de trouver des taxiboats. L’hôtel ne propose qu’un seul contact, qui ne répond pas. Résultat : on se retrouve rapidement bloqués. Nous avons également été très déçus par la politique tarifaire : tout est payant. Même le transfert jusqu’au jetty (le port principal de l’île, point de passage obligatoire pour tous les déplacements en bateau, situé à seulement 5 minutes en voiture) est facturé, alors qu’il n’existe aucune alternative. L’hôtel en est parfaitement conscient et en profite, en facturant 60 RM par personne et par trajet (soit environ 27€ aller-retour) pour quelques minutes seulement. La restauration n’était pas du tout au niveau attendu pour ce standing, et le petit-déjeuner était également décevant. Nous avons loué un scooter pour pouvoir nous déplacer un minimum, mais avec seulement deux routes sur l’île, cela reste très limité.

The location and nature beauty surrounds this property which I will say is god’s gift. The sea was beautiful and most clear.

There were no facilities as expected. This property cannot be called as five star. The curtains in room torn, the food options were just average, they didn’t have speed boat, yacht, and even the ponto shown in picture ( the hut across sea) was not working. Staff just politely says no for everything I asked. I mean even if u can say it’s off season but you are getting customer so please be ready to provide service.

La cadre et la plage privée sont magnifique. Personnel très aimable et très accueillant bien rien à dire.

This is the only hotel in the bay. We came at the end of March which is considered a low season, but the weather was really nice! Clear water, plankton doesn't bite. It is easy to swim on a kayak and snorkel with the turtles. Very calm. Very friendly staff. Hamdan from reception is very attentive ❤️

Sandflies sometimes bit us. But the good thing is that the hotel provides balm after bites, and prevention method (the spray on the beach, it really helps).
