"Great value hotel near Wakefield"

At first I was put off by the hotel being on an industrial site but thankfully the rooms were very quiet. There was ample wardrobe & cupboard space. We had single beds but they went together. The rooms were clean & bright with a beverage station & TV. The bathroom had the shower over the bath but this was fine- we got a nonslip mat from reception. There were toiletries provided & plenty of large towels. The reception staff were friendly and offered local recommendations for places to visit. The bar was good value as well, 2 pts of a premium lager were cheaper than the nearest pub & the setting was bright & comfortable. The Kiln was only 6 minutes drive from town centre & had great A road & motorway connection.

The decor was a bit tired but in all honesty we had booked this as a value/ cheaper option so it didn't put us off. We had read some reviews & we were suprised by what others had written. It's a great value option for the Wakefield area.

"Lovely staf"

Very welcoming staff. Room was basic but clean. Bed was comfortable. Ideal for our one night stay. Would stay ago.

Carpet ideally needs replacing and fresh decor but doesn't affect the stay.

Decent breakfast.

I note that the rooms are to be upgraded, the room was VERY tired. No updates in 40? Yrs. Shower weak, tap unit loose on wall, 13amp sockets in room NOT fully screwed tight-A 100% H&S RISK. Not all light bulbs worked. Carpet needed a deep clean. Only 1 very thin pillow per person, min 2 should be available, without having to go to reception. Images of refurbished rooms, are like Dr Who TARDIS, much larger than can possibly be achieved.

The reception staff were very helpful upon arrival. The room itself was okay, clean and tidy. The bed felt comfortable and made me fall asleep easily.

The bathroom are was not the greatest, especially the bathtub area. There was only one bin in the room, there were no bins located in the toilet area.
