Melaleuca Resort

Excellent place to stay. Close to everything. Beach is straight across Esplande. Close to bus stop if you do not have a car. All the facilities you would require on few days away are available here. One minor downside is the internet signal could certainly do with a boost.

Excellent location. We could see and hear the water. The room was very comfortable for two; great mattress. Margaret and Stephen were great hosts. The resort is very attractive and well maintained. We definitely would return.

Pool, BBQ area and gardens were fantastic. The accommodation needs some renovating as it’s tired. Internet was pretty much non existent!

Very nice apartment block in the center of everything. Small block of 24 apartments provides a boutique and relaxed overall feel. Fully fitted out kitchen with full sized appliances, washer and dryer in the bathroom. Nicely landscaped gardens and pool area. Good sized 1 bedroom apartment with chairs on your deck. Fully fitted our barbecue dining pavilion. Palm Cove Beach is just a few steps out your door, and across the road. Very good value for the money. Very likely we will stay here again.

Listed as 4-star resort, but it’s an apartment with 80’s condition and appliances(see pictures p1-7),smelly mattress/bedroom, not trusted owners/management, hidden cost for extra kids and safety box(p-8). Noticed the following not working: 1st day-entry door 2cm gap, moldy living room blind 5cm gap& kitchen light;2nd day-dishwasher flood the kitchen and stove not working;3rd day-bathroom moldy blind fell.....too tied to mention here and report, but afraid to get charged. The owner claimed that the dishwasher works, the flooding was due to I didn’t close the door completely. and the electric stove can cook, but only the indicator light wasn’t on. SAFETY and honesty issues!!! Charged $30 per kid per night while not listed in the “extra fee” policy. Wanted to charge $5 per night for safety box... not sure what else will be charged No laundry detergent avail and big tissue box only had 10 pieces left, don’t want to ask anymore. They also tried to sell tours for commissions (skyrail and Karanda railways for $315, but $286 in the official site https://www.skyrail.com.au/cairnstours/skyrail-kuranda-rail). I didn’t want to use the coupons they offered due to this reason. Palm Cove beach is small, water color is yellow like river. Food/restaurant is expensive and no option. No trust big hotel avail. would have stayed in Cairns for foods and Port Douglas for beach and access to reefs tour.

Very centralised, clean and comfortable

I loved the view from our balcony, over looking the pool & the beach. The room was so quiet, no noise from any of the other rooms. The only thing wrong was that I should have booked to stay longer!!!

Central to all restaurants and access to sightseeing activities, great pool and gardens well maintained. Owners very helpful and assisted with booking tours. Would definitely stay again
