Shell Lake Lodge, a Travelodge by Wyndham

Beautiful building, still in the process of updating the interior in the words of the owners.

I was on 2nd floor, would have preferred 1st floor, didn’t see an elevator. Breakfast was good with many choices but no milk for cereal.

Shower curtain needed yo be bleached on bottom 1/3 was stained from water Bed was too high. Hard to get in & out with the big railings

In my bathroom was a swimsuit crotch liner stuck to the wall when I arrived so wasn't sure they cleaned the bathroom. Also shower curtain was moldy.

The staff in the morning were friendly and conversational.

I had booked a King room which was to include a pull out. There wasn’t a pull out and even though there were only 4 rooms occupied on that evening, she WOULD NOT change the room for me.

Employees are very nice and helpful. Very well run place.

We stayed during a cold January night for a family visit nearby. The vibe was comfortable and welcoming with a fire going in the lounge area. Check in was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had more to offer than what we've typically encountered for a continental breakfast, with eggs, sausage and pancakes. Room was amazing with whirlpool and fireplace. A rustic feel, little used but nothing that would make a picky person cringe. It felt very comfortable and relaxed, a nice change from some of the more "stiff" hotels.

I have stayed there for 3 years now when we go there for a local event we enjoy our stay

Icy out in the parking lot could use sand and salt
