Hôtel du Grand Lac Excelsior

Old world hotel charm, well worth to pay for a lake view balcony overlooking Lake Geneva, spectacular views. Hotel is quirky, easy to get list, indoor pool was great and we loved the terrace access to the beautiful Promenade

Lots of changing lifts to get to your destination, very confusing. They need to put kettle + coffee ☕️ machine in rooms

Beautiful setting and views right on the lake.

Property very tired. Carpets badly in need of a change. No tea or coffee making in room. Very odd having hotel linked to and part of a medical clinic!

Excellent location with direct access to the Quay of flowers, which a beautiful and quiet part of the Montreux promenade. Victorian charm about the whole place with fine victorian furniture may not be to everyones taste, but we liked it. Large bedroom with high ceiling was easy to keep cool and had a good bathroom. Beds were comfortable. We sat out every evening enjoying the amazing views of the French Alps. Breakfast was good too, with friendly and helpful staff.

There were 2 people working on laptops and making phone calls during breakfast, disturbing guests. Staff were aware that this was happening but didn't do anything to encourage the customers to make the calls in a more appropriate place, which they should have done. Guests in the room next to ours smoked constantly on their balcony and the smoke came into our bedroom which was very unpleasant. We feel that smokers should be given a specific place to smoke and not allowed on the balconies.

Het uitzicht op het meer, het zwembad en de stoelen buiten. Ontbijt is ook goed. 15 Minuten lopen naar station is prima te doen.

Wunderschönes Hotel direkt am See. Die offenen Räume mit Garten sind sehr schön, man hat einen direkten Blick auf den See.

Das Bettsofa für unseren Sohn war eher ungemütlich aber ansonsten war es ein sehr schönes Zimmer. Wenn man mit älteren Kindern reist würde ich eher ein eigenes Zimmer mit Verbindungstür empfehlen. Der Weg zum Hotelpool ist abenteuerlich.
