Hôtel du Grand Lac Excelsior

Fantastic location. Comfortable spacious room, with stunning views from the balcony. The pool facilities were excellent. Staff were very polite and helpful. Traditional style hotel with lovely period features. Dinner in the restaurant on our first evening was perfect.

The room had a great location and was comfortable. The staff was exceptional - everyone was kind and helpful

The furniture was old (the couch had one cushion ripped). We had to ask to get a living room lamp for the table. The hallway to our room always smelled musty and the carpets were old and stained.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel in Montreux, especially because of its excellent location. The bus stop and the beautiful lakeside promenade were both very close, making it extremely convenient to explore the area. The views from the hotel were also fantastic and added a lot to the overall experience. We were pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a deluxe room, which was a thoughtful gesture and definitely appreciated.

However, there were a couple of drawbacks. The wooden flooring in the room was quite creaky, which became noticeable, especially at night. We were also a bit disappointed that there was no kettle provided in the room, even though it was a deluxe category room.

Odeur pas tres agreable dans certain parties de l'hotel. Jardin piscine pas amenagé, trés domage!

the view from the balcony was excellent, the hotel is a bit of a walking distance from the very center which we liked because it was very serene, the location is unbeatable. the staff was very helpful and kind. we were a little nervous because of so many bad reviews but our room was comfortable and clean enough, especially for that price there was nothing to complain about.

Freundliches Personal und gute Lage

Das Hotel hat seine Glanzzeiten schon lange hinter sich, Rennovationen drängen sich auf. Abgelaufene Teppiche, etwas muffig... Steht etwas symbolisch für viele Hotels in Montreux! Wenn diese schöne Stadt auch zukünftig im Glanz und modern dastehen will, sind Investitionen unumgänglich. Nächstes Mal werden wir ein moderneres Hotel etwas aussehalb nehmen.
