L Abbaye De Talloires

Overall our stay was excellent. Parking is a bit of a tight squeeze. The hotel has lots of character. Food overpriced.

Enjoyed our stay with our dog. Service was good, room comfortable, spa reasonable. Pricey but so is the rest of the area.

Great location and building. Food excellent. Some aspects of service a bit mixed for the price. Very sympathetic restoration of the building. Small but ok Spa.

The room was great but no air conditioning

Wonderful hotel, wonderful setting. Had a lake view room which was small but stunning. Breakfast was very good but quite pricey but overall the stay was tremendous.

Romantic stay.... lovely!

Staying for a couple of days to visit family. Love L'Abbaye - although it doesn't have an elevator, so not good for those of us who may have physical or age problems! But the staff helped greatly. The hotel is lovely, the paintings and other displays mouth watering, and the location is beyond beautiful.

Beautiful hotel next to the lake. A wonderful restaurant - we had a fantastic walk up the Massif the next day with view of snow capped mountains.

The Abbaye is situated right on Lake Annecy with private access to the lake, complete with loungers The gardens are lovely and you can sit outside enjoying a leisurely kir royale while soaking up the view. Inside the Abbaye has been beautifully restored as a hotel, and art gallery - changing exhibitions of local artists (painters, potters) adorn the walls (and are for sale, should you so wish). Our first room was with a lake view - it was small - somewhat monastic, with not a lot of space should you have as much luggage as we had. Because of an impending wedding in the hotel, we were moved to a garden view room, which was significantly larger which we felt was much better for us (and the luggage!). There is no lift, so people who cannot climb stairs should perhaps look elsewhere. The staff are warm and helpful. (One of them kindly reversed by car out of the car park as I am so useless at reversing!). I would definitely recommend L'Abbaye for a special stay; it is one of a kind.
