Econo Lodge Morristown West

The AC was not on when we got to the room, and the carpet was torn loose from the edge at the Bathroom door. I steped on something very hard, almost stuck in my foot...near rip in the carpet. The room was small, but it served us well...once it got cool. No elevator. and the rest of the hotel was very warm, no AC on at all.

The motel was everything we needed it to be. The rooms were clean and we were very pleased. The complimentary waffle breakfast was an added bonus. Would definitely stay again.

When you travel a lot, and stay in a broad spectrum of hotels, from economy to luxury, it is easy to start using the resort properties as a measure for the economy properties--and that's not very fair. In this case, the Econo Lodge Morristown was a good property--not great, not a family vacation destination by any stretch, but perfect for those "we're going to be in the room to shower, sleep, maybe watch some TV in between, and that's about it" trips. It is an ECONOMY-LODGE, afterall. Low/no frills, but it had free internet, which is more than I can say for the upmarket property I stayed at in a big city, the week before. The family that runs the hotel seem to live on-premise, and are very attentive (though not intrusive)...even called a few minutes after check-in to see if everything was to our liking (it was). I don't see that in any but the highest of the high in resort/concierge floor accommodations, so it was a nice "down-home" touch. The water pressure was not the greatest, and the bedding was also not as cozy as I would have liked, but overall we were happy with this property, and will use it again when we come to Morristown.

I had to wait for someone to come to the desk for check-in upon my arrival. Breakfast was just "Okay" but nothing to Bragg about.

When we arrived at the hotel, no one was in the lobby to greet us. We had to go hunt down a staff member to get service. Then when we finally got checked in and went to our room, there was already some one in that room. After going back and forth with the desk lady and the cleaning lady we finally got a room. We were not impressed with the service.

This place was right where I needed it to be, in the middle of nowhere. It was a small, quiet place that didn't seem to have too many customers, but I got the "small hotel" treatment! A little while after I got to my room, the front desk called to ask if everything in the room looked okay. I had missed the first call, but that didn't stop them from calling back to make sure I was satisfied! The bed was comfortable and clean, the shower worked perfectly, the continental breakfast was limited but quality, and the snacks in the vending machine were well-stocked! I recommend this place: it was a great deal for the money, though nothing fancy.
