Motel 6-Lafayette, IN

Roach infested. We walked in, saw dead roaches on the floor and live ones on the wall and bed. We immediately left, asked for a refund, and found a nice Hilton.

I experienced a VERY BAD and TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE situation on August 1,2024 at Motel 6 at 139 Frontage Road in Lafayette, Indiana. I had a confirmed reservation through Booking.com for $58.51 for that night. However, I was told by reception when I arrived that they couldn't locate my reservation. They offered me the same room for $110 which I refused. Then I was offered a reservation for $79 which supposedly included a manager’s discount. That was also not acceptable to me. I was delayed for over 3 hours trying to sort out what was Motel 6’s problem. I eventually made a reservation at a nearby property and left. During the 3 hour wait, another customer arrived with the exact same issue. Then a third person who had booked through Priceline.com also had the exact same issue. It was very obvious at that point that the problem was squarely a Motel 6 problem, but they had earlier pointed the finger incorrectly at Booking.com. It is fairly obvious that the Motel 6 location didn’t want to honor that $58.51 reservation so that they could rent out the room at a higher rate. When I phoned Booking.com and put the Motel 6 receptionist on the phone with them, Motel 6 only told them to cancel my reservation instead of agreeing to honor it. Subsequently, Motel 6 told me that if I left and the reservation somehow showed up in their system that evening that I would be charged fully for not showing up. Note that I made the reservation on June 15 for the August 1 stay. Does it really take 45 days for a reservation to appear in the system? The Motel 6 at 139 Frontage Road is clearly trying to scam customers into paying a higher rate than guaranteed once they arrive at the property. Accordingly, it’s best to totally avoid the location.

I don't like it. I spent 1 hour in the room, but I did not sleep in the dirty room

Staffing (they could not offer me a clean room, and the general was supposed to call me after my complaint, but she never called me. They could not take care of my refunds, I was told to call booking.com about my refunds. Room condition: It smelled so bad, the room and bathroom were dirty. A dead insect was in the bathroom and the hallway leading to my room was dirty and smelling. While I was in the office complaining about the room condition, another person came in to complain about bugs in his room. I will never book a room in the Motel again
