The Tops

Great location with stunning views of the beach and the sea. Very friendly staff, Tom gave us all the information we needed for a comfortable stay and made us feel at home right away. Breakfast was delicious, we loved the comfortable and very personal atmosphere.

Une vue magnifique, au milieu de la nature. Tout peut se faire à pied. Tom est très attentionné et donne tous les conseils possibles pour les excursions et sorties.

The location was excellent, up the hill so great views but still only a few minutes walk from the shops and restaurants. The host Tom was very welcoming and had a lot of local knowledge to share. There was a lot of outdoor space to sit and enjoy the view. Both rooms had a beautiful view of the sunrise in the morning. Breakfast was tasty if a bit chaotic.

Given the price was pretty cheap compared to other properties nearby, we didn't have massive expectations. However there were some very disappointing parts to our stay. The property is old, which is fine, but that doesn't mean that the bed linens, pillows etc can't be updated. They smelled not great and were stained. In one of our rooms, the toilet broke repeatedly and had to be repaired. That room did not have a safe, but did have a fan, however on looking at it, it was covered in what looked like years worth of dust. The other room had a safe, however it did not work - it was not the typical kind you find in a hotel where you set the combination each time you lock - more a typical home safe where you only set it once. It was locked and there was no indication of the unlocking code. This room also didn't have a fan and was really hot overnight. Despite the beauty of the sunrise, the blinds did not block out the light at all which meant the room was hard to sleep in after 6am. Communal cooking facilities were nice to have but the items were not clean and there didn't seem to be any cutlery. And in the outdoor seating areas, the cushions didn't look to have been cleaned in a very long time.

The view from everywhere is spectacular as the property is located on a hill above town with excellent views below to the town and beyond to the beach and to the ocean. Tom is very friendly and provides excellent customer service.

The lovely view could have been improved if the windows would have been cleaner. There are a lot of steps which weren't problematic for me, but it could be for some guests.
