Hampton Inn Jacksonville - East Regency Square

We are not greeted right as we walked in the door. The attendant was very unprofessional had other things going on obviously that were more important than helping the customer. As soon as we walked in the door, he was on the phone already on a personal, not acknowledging us while still continuing on with their personal situation. Once we were acknowledged, we were told he was unable to check us in because their system was down and he might not even be able to book us in for about 90 minutes. At this time, I sat down and I was about to start contacting booking.com and then all the sudden we were able to check in.. when we went to check in the counter person ended up charging the card that was on the account even though I told him I wanted it charged to a different card. He then reverse the charges on the wrong card. Then when I tried to charge the card I wanted it on, it declined which should not have happened so then I was like OK so then I tried another card. I asked him are you sure your system is still up? These cards should not be doing this. he told it must be you it’s not our system. So I then have them go ahead and charge the other card they charge originally just to be able to get up to my room. The room instantly smelled musty as soon as we walked in the door, not clean. There were lights that weren’t working it looks pretty rundown. At this point, I got on the phone and contacted both of my credit card companies to find out what was going on with concerns, of course. Both companies told me that everything was perfectly fine. They didn’t show any declines on their end and my cards were completely active and able to use. at this point I also called booking.com to report what had happened. I then decided to go down and tell the clerk the findings and also let them know that I felt very uncomfortable with the way I was checked in and that I would be checking out and expected a full refund.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating, my room was so nice and clean, just lovely.

We had a wonderful time
