Great hotel! Bed extremely comfortable! Nice linens and towels! Hotel is historic so it’s not a contemporary place but has some very nice updates. The pool is salt water and overlooks the ocean. Felt very much like Being at a resort right here in New England. Food that we had was excellent and the stafff are extremely inviting and warm. We will be back

I recently stayed at the Emerson Inn by the Sea and had a truly great experience. I booked over the phone and spoke with Anthony, who was professional, kind, and incredibly accommodating. We stayed in the Rockport Suite on the fourth floor. The room was clean, quiet, and nicely styled, with a cozy bedroom and sitting area. The bathroom had a shower/tub combo and full size bath toiletries. Just outside the room, tea and coffee were conveniently available. The inn itself is stunning, rich in history and even more beautiful in person than in the photos. The grounds are expansive with spectacular ocean views and the front and back porches are lined with rocking chairs and plenty of seating for relaxation. Breakfast and dinner service was prompt and friendly. Dinner was delicious, with a few French inspired dishes on the menu. Breakfast was more minimal but fresh, featuring fruit, oatmeal, bagels, smoked salmon, and some of the tastiest freshly baked muffins I’ve had. Although I didn’t get to use the pool due to weather, it looked inviting and well-maintained. I would absolutely recommend the Emerson Inn and look forward to returning when I have the chance.

Breakfast was superb! The view of the ocean was so relaxing and picturesque, would definitely stay again!

Had to use the stairs. A third or fourth floor room is rough if you do not plan ahead and have to go up and down several times!

What a lovely setting! Comfortable room and bed, lovely porch and lawn area for watching the ocean. The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. We had a very good dinner at their restaurant as well as satisfying breakfasts each morning.

The Emerson Inn has a huge beautiful lawn with heated pool and exquisite view of the ocean. A public cliff walk is adjacent to the Inn. They provide a great breakfast and have music on the terrace on some nights. Their staff members go out of their way to ensure that you have a most pleasant visit.

So delightful! We stepped back in time and enjoyed some much needed R&R away from the city. With the incredible view over an expanse of lawn to the backdrop of the ocean beyond from our Adirondack chairs while sipping one of Donny’s precision made cocktails, I can’t imagine a more perfect moment. Our room was small but comfortable. A walk through the beautiful neighborhoods to Halibut Point and the walking path around the quarry was lovely and worked up an appetite for the scrumptious feasting for dinner back at the Emerson Inn. We have nothing but raise for the chef! Dining out on the veranda is an experience that we won’t soon forget. The live music trio that we were fortunate enough to hear on Sunday evening was AMAZING! If you get a chance definitely drop in for that, and don’t be shy about dancing or asking for your favorite old “chestnut’. They were pros! The innkeepers/owners have a real gift of hospitality and will do their best to make your stay memorable.

The Emerson is a picturesque inn perched on the ocean, steeped in history and charm. It’s the perfect place to unwind and escape the everyday. Their on-site restaurant is truly exceptional. We started with the four-cheese plate which is easily the best I’ve ever had, followed by delicious appetizers: oysters Rockefeller and a crisp, flavorful Caesar salad. For our main courses, my husband enjoyed the baked haddock while I savored the rich, hearty beef bourguignon. They were both were delicious! Great job the chef! To finish, we shared a slice of decadent chocolate cake and sipped High Tide martinis, all while taking in the stunning ocean view. It was a perfect evening in a truly special setting.

What a charming inn! It was beautiful and the employees were eager to help and please. Don't forget to eexplore the "lawn level," with two large rooms to relax, eatch TV, etc.

My husband and I so appreciated the incredible hospitality and kindness we experienced by the staff who welcomed us to this beautiful quintessential New England Inn - truly - a hidden gem. The Emerson is an opportunity to experience New England history. We visited in May, pre-season, so the restaurant was not open, however, the hostess Roberta; kindly recommended a fabulous traditional New England dining option a few minutes away in Rockport which was so delicious... We especially loved the amazing view from the vast porch space - following dinner and a game of cards in the Parlor Bar (fyi: I really enjoyed sipping the amazing local Pilsner: Piscano by Rockport Brewery) -- we discovered a row of inviting rocking chairs to pause; experience and just be on the porch. We enjoyed this quiet time for almost two hours, we were offered soft, warm blankets as we sipped our wonderful libations from the beautiful PARLOR Bar which is open to the public offering live music and interesting experiences... This was an anniversary adventure we will never forget as we experienced a most peaceful and beautiful sunset listening to the waves on the porch... Before departing in the morning, we especially appreciated meeting the inn owner - her passion, vision to enhance the already beautiful property and love as owner and steward to this amazing inn was remarkable. She has mindfully designed the interior space to honor the history of this remarkable building with an eclectic collection of antiques and contemporary decor. The guests rooms are typical of New England Inns - small yet well appointed - and very clean. I was so grateful to witness the beautiful sunrise from our room window as well.... Perhaps you too are mindful of supporting small, local, women owned businesses - this is a gentle nudge to visit the website and plan a little get away soon - I highly recommend Emerson Inn By The Sea for your next mindful pause...
