Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Waco North

Our complaint was that there was no hot tub and the pool was ice cold. The breakfast in the morning was good.

Shower door was out of tracks making it hard to move.

My stay was great! The room was clean, quite and free of lingering odors. I would definitely recommend.

Had an overnight stay and everything was excellent

TLDR: Don't trust the room descriptions, the people, or photos for accessibility features. Room described as mobility accessible with a transfer shower, often needing ADA room features, we know these terms and the hotel should as well. Additionally the ADA accessible portion of the reception desk is inaccessible, boarded up and decorated for the holiday, the remaining counter space is chest high or higher. What we received was a room with a tub and "shower chair" that you have to be able bodied to use. It was not a transfer chair, the tub narrows towards the controls so you can't get the chair close enough to reach the controls and there is not enough space to get in or out of the tub with the chair in it, so you have to get in and lift the chair over the tub and drag it behind you. It's painfully obvious the property is old and any recent renovation was carpet only, wallpaper, paint, casegoods were all Radisson circa 1990s. 2 out of 3 ice machines completely out of order, no signs, and obvious they have been for some time. Elevators miss the floor by +/- an inch making it difficult to use a mobility aid. Each floor has a different selection of overpowering air freshener covering up ...something... I honestly thought the lobby smell was just a urinal cake/restroom air freshener but each floor had a similarly overpowering yet different smell (found out fast when you have to visit 4 floors to find a working ice machine) Breakfast was spot on for the majority of Fairfields I've visiting though the waffle batter was (day(s)) old as it failed to rise and yielded dense doughy dismal discs. Juice machine offered lemonade, would have been nice if it actually dispensed some. Staff... Well ... I've seen it before when a property is coasting through slower months or barely keeping the lights on, possibly heading to a flag change... When they find the areas out of camera view to sit on their phones or sit in the lobby on their laptop while taking calls on their personal cell, you could easily mistake them for a guest. This stay was the end of a nearly 2 week road trip at Marriotts and I wish I had just pushed through the night and ended my trip early.
