Montaneros in Vail

Great place to stay. Everything is close. Would stay again.

We stayed at Montaneros for a quick, quiet off-season getaway. My kids loved the heated pool, and enough shops and restaurants were open so it didn’t feel completely off-season. Not sure what it’s like during ski season, but a very pleasant fall location

The property is very convenient to everything in Lionshead and the unit was very comfortable. The only drawback is that bedroom windows face elevator and walkways and can be noisy at night.

Great location. Room was nice. Dated but nice. Pool was very dirty.

This was our second stay here and we will not be back. The location is great, however there were several problems which were unacceptable considering the price you pay. The bedding on the foldout couch was dirty/used when we arrived at our unit. We declined housekeeping during our stay (told the girl at the front desk), yet sure enough housekeeping showed up banging on our door the next day (while our child was trying to nap). The BIGGEST problem is their extremely unacceptable elevator policy. All units are on the 2, 3, or 4th floors. You CANNOT use the elevator to go down to the lobby after 10pm or before 8am. We had a small child and stroller with us. So, if your child wakes up early and you want to go for a walk or to get some early breakfast at 7am, you cannot get from your unit to Lionshead without going down stairs. It is ridiculous to have to carry a stroller down stairs. We wanted to leave/check out before 8am. Guess what - we couldn't do it because the elevators down to the lobby/garage DON'T WORK before 8! How are you supposed to carry all of your luggage, ski bags, etc. down the narrow stairs each time?? Thankfully we did not have an early morning flight to catch. What if you're in a wheelchair? What if you're injured? How is OK with the ADA???? Completely unacceptable. And what is the reasoning behind this?? If they're worried about security, add a key card reader to the elevators. Truly a pathetic policy with no explanation (and this is a Hyatt Residence).

Fantastic location!! Staff was wonderful and the room was so cozy. Our favorite part was the fireplace which is perfect after a day of skiing. Can't wait to come back!!

Our toilet seat was not properly cleaned (old urine stains on the edge of the bowl). Most outlets need to be replaced - you plug something in and it simply falls right out. Toiletries could be better - would appreciate real soap like most hotels now offer. Outdated furniture, not a huge deal but you are paying premium prices. Staff was very friendly and good location.
