Prachtig gebouw in een net zo prachtige omgeving. Fijne kamer voor schappelijke prijs. Na een dag rijden verheugden we ons op een ontspannen avond incluis diner in het restaurant van Melville Castle. Helaas kregen we een uur na aankomst te horen dat de men de keuken na het barsten van het hele afvoersysteem had moeten sluiten. Grote teleurstelling, maar die verdween snel door zeer adequaat doorpakken van de receptioniste. Die wist voor zo'n 30 gasten binnen no time een alternatief restaurant te regelen, taxi kosten v.v. voor Melville. Ontbijt moest geïmproviseerd met behulp van een kleine keukenunit in de tent naast het kasteel, dat lukte uitstekend. Kortom, na 2 nachten vertrokken wij als tevreden gasten. Melville is zeer aan te bevelen, ook omdat het een ideale uitvalsbasis is voor bezoek aan Edinburgh. Taxikosten naar Royal Mile rond 25 pond.
