Leisure Inn Penny Royal is just a short walk from the centre of Launceston and well positioned for Cataract Gorge walks as well. It's really well built in the mock-Tudor style - doors are heavy and the room is kept very dark by the double blind/curtain format, which is excellent. The walls must be thick too - as there is no noise from the street or other rooms at all. Funnily enough they provide free earplugs, but it's probably the place I stayed that most did NOT need them! Minor issue with the shower which is very touchy and hard to maintain at a constant temperature. Otherwise really comfortable and highly recommended.

Quirky and roomy . Comfortable bed and nice shower.

The water pump for the adventure park woke us both nights and we were unable to relax in the late afternoon in our room due to the noise . Also a lot of noise from upstairs over night . Some advanced warning should be given about this and be reflected in the cost .
