Internet not working, A/c not working. Nobody on reception

Very spacious room, the king and queen rooms we booked for both come with an additional single bed, on top of the king and queen bed.

Freezer section in the mini fridge didnt work in our room. Walls seem to be quite thin, upstairs walking and showering were clearly heard in our room.

Quiet and very nice staff.

We liked nothing about this motel. 1) There were ants everywhere, on the bed, inside the cabinets. 2) There were spiders and their webs everywhere. The whole ceiling and corners were infested. 3) One of the light bulbs was not working. 4) The staff is very rude. 5) Location is very bad (didn't realise earlier) Details and pictures are given below.

There were ants everywhere. The utensils might be washed earlier but had a layer of ants all over and I had to re-wash everything before using them - in fact I had to take out everything from that cabinet to make sure we are eating from clean plates. The ants were on the bed (pictures attached). We killed two large and three small spiders crawling in the room. There were spider webs all over, you name any piece of furniture and they were everywhere. We called the receptionist and asked her to suggest what can be done. The lady was very rude. When somebody comes to you with a complain and you happen to be in a hospitality business, you don't just say that you had cleaned the room and if we don't like it then we must move out. The complain was not just about cleaning, it was about hygiene and safety. If you are the manager and the receptionist and also the cleaner in the busiest of holiday season then there are high chances that there is something you ain't doing right. The lady was very unreasonable and too proud of her not-so-good-work and when she asked us to leave at least three time, I asked for a refund to which she refused. We understood that it was a country motel and there was a forest right behind so spiders could come in. I get that but finding random spiders in a room is one thing but living in a totally infested room that had ants & webs everywhere, as if those webs were there for a long time, are two different things. I think that the location of this motel should incentivise the cleaning staff to make an extra effort to ensure there are no hidden snakes or deadly spiders but unfortunately, they just focus on minting money without offering anything good in return. And you don't justify yourself by saying that 'look, no one is complaining so you shouldn't too!' 500 AUD for a night falls under an expensive rate. In return, we do expect some decent standard of hygiene especially with small kids. Worse experience!
