Ocean Gate Inn

This is my go to hotel when going to Santa Cruz it is a $10 Uber ride from the hotel to the Santa Cruz Beach boardwalk. The hotel is always clean and the staff is extremely friendly. Beds are super comfortable and the rooms are very spacious. Only downfall this trip was the elevator was being maintenance so we had to walk up to the third floor other than that I highly recommend this hotel.

Front desk was super nice. Room was very comfortable and I enjoyed the view from the 3rd level.

Beim einchecken konnten wir uns einen Schokoriegel aussuchen - Pluspunkt ;) Gratis Parkplatz, Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle und Fliegengitter am Balkon. Zum Strand und Boardwalk ca. 5 Minuten zu Fuss.

An der Kreuzung halten viele Autos mit lauter Musik oder Motoren. In der Dusche war noch ein riesiges Haarbüschel der Vor-(vor-?)Gänger ! Flecken auf der Decke und auf dem Kissen. Kein Lift (wir hatten unser Zimmer auf der 2. Etage). Bett und Kissen für uns nicht bequem.

Manager was very nice

Felt like I paid to stay in a half way house. Was very ghetto around. Felt very unsafe, pretty sure someone in the middle of the night tried getting onto our balcony. Almost left at 4am. Bed was okay. Did not even have fitted sheet in it, just a flat. Room was clean but walls very dirty. Ac was covered in dust, couldn’t even use it. The screen to outside was broken so all the spiders could get it. Definitely would like some money back.

The view with their open patio was beautiful the room was exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable
