Hotel Weißes Roß

Entgegenkommendes Personal, auch Wünsche wurden erfüllt. Frühstück okay, Abendessen preiswert und reichlich.

Anreise beschwerlich, Strassensperrung, Hotell hat darauf keinen Einfluss.

The historical hotel had many decorative items, and the young host family brought new initiative and warmth to the stay. In my particular case, as a solo older female hiking/camping the Hexen-Harzer-Stieg, I booked a bed in the 8-bed dorm room and appreciated a comfortable bed, warm building, and a great breakfast to propel me on the next leg of the journey. Altenbrak I had only known from driving through it, and the Hexen-Harzer-Stieg showed me much more of this very beautiful area in the Harz.

I had planned to eat at the in-house restaurant, but discovered that it wasn't open that day. Although another one nearby was recommended, I was too tired from hiking to put in the effort. This seems to be a normal organisation in the Harz gastronomy and is a minor point. The hot shower and an early bedtime was a welcome alternative. The exceedingly generous breakfast the next morning more than compensated for it.

Iflg. vejledningen var der indtjekning fra kl. 15.00. Vi ankom ca. kl. 16. Der var en klokke, man kunne ringe på, men der kom aldrig nogen, så vi forlod stedet og fandt et andet i nærheden, Hotel-Restaurant St. Hubertusjagt, med en super service. Så alle bedømmelser af Weißes Roß ligger i midten, da vi ikke kan udtale os om hotellets standard inden døre. Der var klistret en seddel op i vinduet, at restauranten var lukket. Ude fra virkede det bestemt ikke særligt tiltalende - levede slet ikke op til billederne.
