South Hill Lodge

I have never experience such a bad "hotel" in my life. Not only did it smell like a smoky bar, it was filthy. In the room where I DID NOT STAY AFTER STEPPING INSIDE, the mirror on the bathroom door was broken, there were multiple stains on the floor, there was a hole in the wall, the bed was dirty, physical filth on the bed-skirt, my shoes were sticking to the bathroom floor. The halls were already noisy with loud guests and it was 4 in the afternoon. I not only don't recommend this place, I was actually traumatized by the whole experience. I got a full refund and hotels.com helped me through it all. This was something I hade only ever seen in movies, and I'm an avid traveller.

Bad area. Staff are ok.

I tried to get into the lobby but could not get passed undesirable people who were full of sorea and dirty. I left and found another place to stay. I tried to contact the hotel without ant luck

Property was filthy throughout, no towels in room, broken tower rack, property smelled This whole property is a slum, I did not stay, left after looking at room, would not stay here at any price I am requesting full refund Staff at check-in good,

The staff were great and very friendly. The room needed to be upgraded because of previous vandalism issues (no fault of the hotel). We were happy overall with the upgrade. A few things to note: the hotel is very much showing its age and should be given some major rework as soon as the ground floor issues (see above) are cleaned up. Some of the lamps were not working and it seemed the power was off to some outlets. The curtains were damaged and should be replaced. none of the sinks except the kitchen had plugs that fit. The carpeting in the room should be replaced as soon as possible. We overlooked this as the room itself has lots of potential and we were comfortable enough. Also, the staff were great to interact with. kudos.

There was blood on the light switch in the bathroom and when I went to go ask for someone to come clean it right after I checked in, the front desk said she would send someone first thing in the morning so I had to get alcohol wipes and clean it my self... Stuff left in the room n just very trap hotel style

Terrible check in service and room was hot. Equipment didn't work
