Great location and right near the historic center. Staff very attentive. The internet is the critical point, every instant disconnects.

Really good stay at the Welcome Knogresshotel Bamberg enroute to southern Bavaria. The hotel looks great on the banks of the river and is well located about a 10 minute walk from the main sights. Welcome was really good with the staff friendly and helpful. Parking is directly under the hotel (you collect your ticket on entry then hand it over when booking out and pay the hotel rate) with an entrance direct to reception. We travelled with a dog and was good to see that in the room they put a food bowl (with a couple of treats), water bowl and dog blanket. A great touch. The room was comfortable with decent beds and very clean. My only comment was it was very quiet yet they still put us in a room at the back with a view of roofs and nothing else. Worth asking for a room overlooking the river as the view is miles better!!! Mentioned this on my initial feedback and great to see they have promised a room at the front on our next stay. Overall a very good place to stay, the bar looked great but was quiet so we wandered out. Looking forward to our next visit.

I was stationed in Bamberg 30years ago and was there for a reunion. The location is perfect for walking to nearby sites. The complementary breakfast was over the top! I nearly argued that it couldn't be free! My goodness, I guess I forgot how well Bavarian's treat their guest.

A great hotel. The staff are very friendly. The path from the hotel to the town was lovely. And, the breakfast was better than any I've had anywhere!

While the location was perfect and the staff friendly and helpful, the accommodation was spartan in the lack ok amenities. I asked for a shower cap and they do not provide them. The bed was hard and didn't have extra pillows I could have used to get comfortable. The room was spartan but the price was not

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the old town (Alstadt). Or you can take a bus (the bus stop if in front of the hotel). The breakfast was great. We only stayed one night, but it was enjoyable.

The Welcome hotel was in a great location. Next to a walking path that is ~ 10 min to the main area of Bamberg. During the walk, you get to walk past a cool Concert Hall. Also, the walk is a perfect distance to walk off those German pork and Rauchbier calories. The hotel was very pet friendly. After booking online, asked for a “dog-friendly” room…..next to an exit. On check-in, not only got the dog-friendly location, but had two bowls and a blanket waiting for her. A nice touch was the doggie snacks that were in one of the bowls. Also, the front desk were very helpful in picking out a restaurant and were attentive to any questions. Finally, the free breakfast was out of this world. Being used to the USA continental-style free breakie, I was blown away by the spread.....loads of different styles of bread/coffee/ hot food (sausage/bacon/eggs/toast) cold cuts, fruits, great selection of cheese……. everything. Almost embarrassed not to pay for such a great spread……..almost. The only negative (and a slight one) was shower water seemed to leak to the adjacent floor a little easy….even though there was a shower door. It wasn’t a big deal………just needed a couple extra towels to keep the floor dry. But overall a great stay at the hotel and won’t hesitate to stay at there on our next trip to beautiful Bamberg.

Nice clean, modern hotel. Helpful and friendly staff, good breakfast, and nice location (10 min walk to beautiful old town with restaurants and shops).
