Kempinski Hotel Chengdu

Brand name

There were hardly any restaurants nearby. There was a small convenience store though. It is about 10 min walk to the metro which is the plus point. We arrived around 7 pm and our encounter with the front desk gave us a less than ideal impression of the hotel. She was curt, clinical and we were surprised by her service attitude for such a brand name hotel chain. Perhaps that was a one-off bad experience from one individual. We have no complains on the other staff.

The breakfast was very good. There was a large selection of different dishes, both Asian and European. The rooms were very spacious and the bathtub was great! There is a subway station near the hotel as well as buses. It's not centrally located, but you can get everywhere easily. You can get to the airport and train station quickly.

At midday the sun shines on the windows so that it gets very warm in the room. The internal air conditioning didn't work so I got an external one. I had to work for a few hours and it was very hot in my hotel room. I had to close the curtains and sat in a dark hotel room at lunchtime. That wasn't very nice.

Lovely room, newly renovated, spacious, clean, really nice toiletries and the bed was comfortable. Also very instagrammable. The hotel staff was very helpful also, helped us book taxis, loaded luggage for us and even helped book tourist tickets.

nothing i didnt like but if i HAD to say something was that the shower pressure could of been abit more powerful.

On arrival, the wine show was being dismantled, it was dangerous
