Poets Cove Resort & Spa

This resort is in dire need of updates. Finished in 2004, it probably hasn't had any work done since - which is a shame because the potential to be a top-notch resort again is there. Aside from the usual repairs, furniture, paint and equipment (an ice machine would be nice and for God's sake AIR CONDITIONING!!! - the rooms become unbearable in the afternoon). There appears to be management/staffing issues (ie. restaurant service options) and I feel for the employees there that are doing their best to provide good service, but I have to question whether neglect from ownership is the root cause? While we enjoyed our stay overall, I probably wouldn't come back until after the above issues had been addressed.

We’ve been here a couple of times before. The setting is absolutely gorgeous but the resort definitely needs a refresh in every way. Rooms needs to be air conditioned or have fans that work. The restaurants need to be open every day. The coffee shop needs to be open. How can you run a hotel when half your amenities are not available yet you still pay full price for the room. They were definitely understaffed like so many hotels all over. This could so easily by a 5star hotel with a little help.

Overall, a great resort and great get-a-way from Victoria. Food was excellent at the pub/restaurant. We would have liked more privacy between the hot tubs in the cottages - a privacy screen or something.

Stay was great. Beautiful resort. Had a couple of issues. Main floor bathroom couldnt use. Not fixed while we were there. Thought supplies should have been more for 3 nights. Had to ask for more coffee, sugar, toilet paper etc.
