"Great location, awful motel/hostel/tenement!"

4.0

Don't believe the description of this hotel. At best it is a hostel. At worst its a tenement building. But, it is a great location! So, it's up to you. No toilet paper, no soap, no shampoo. You have to bring it all or buy it there. That's as never told to us when we booked his. And the front desk works just a few hours a day, and if you haven't check in when they aren't there, good luck making an international phone call to figure out how to check yourself in. It's not easy, especially after a long day of travel. Oh, and when you realize you need a hair dryer, it's too late. Be sure to Ask if they have one at checkout, as there are only a couple in the entire place. There is a microwave and a semi hotplate, but no stove. That was never identified either in the description of the kitchenette. Really really disappointing place for what we thought we were getting. I'll definitely be contacting Expedia and having a real heart to heart on my continued loyalty. Really feel duped on this one. (we'll see if this is published!) But I will reiterate that if you are on a budget, and don't mind a bunch of partiers up all night, and want to be close to it all, then this is not a bad place at all. Chamonix is a rather expensive town, so it can really help your pocketbook. Don't forget to bring your sheets and towels down to the front desk at checkout, or you'll get scolded too!!!

"Perfect for ski bus location and town centre"

8.0

The hotel was within 100m of the bus terminal at Chamonix Sud so was ideal for getting to all the ski areas. Also within 5minute walk of Chamonix centre. the room was perfect for 4 or 5 although if 5 people then the sofa in the lounge had to be used. Overall would have preferred 2 bathrooms but 1 was manageable, but better if the toilet was separate to allow greater flexibility. Chamonix is a fabulous location for off piste skiing. Vallee Blanche well worth the day but don't be fooled, there is a long walk uphill at the end to get out of the valley. Grands Montees is one of the best ski areas I have been to.

Had this hotel @ a reduced rate. Perfectly situated, close to the ski bus! Pretty basic hotel but adequate to put your head down after a day on the slopes!!

Small apt., but great view. No soap, paper towels or cleaning supplies in room. No place to store luggage on check out. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was great. 5 minute walk to city center along a river.

"Friendly and welcoming staff"

8.0

It's true that a lot of things that you might think should be included cost extra - like towels, teatowels, etc. However, all this is clear up front, so it shouldn't be a surprise. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. I made a booking online the same day we wanted to check in, and despite the complete lack of paperwork, they checked us in very efficiently about 3 hours early! There was a problem with the wifi we paid for when it stopped working, but after we realised the problem was specific to our floor (no problems using wifi in the lobby), they sorted it quickly. Very happy, and would stay there again.

"Excellent"

8.0

Almost perfect. One negative thing. In the confirmation email to me it was noted that the reception would be open (that day) from 3PM to 7PM. Also if I have any question I could call them to their phone. The reception was open on 5PM and nobody answered the phone (just info message was played). On the locked door of the reception the correct time 5pm was printed. But I followed the email confirmation and wasted 2 hours and couple dollars on phone calls. The rest is fine. Good accommodation.

"Definitely wouldn't rent again."

2.0

The biggest thing to remember about this is that it's an APARTMENT, not a hotel. Therefore, there are zero amenities and services. In fact, it doesn't even include towels! In order to "rent" towels, you have to pay 6 euro for a pack that includes 2 small towels and a hand towel, which is obscene. You also have to rent extra blankets, a hair dryer, etc. It's nice having your own kitchen and everything, but it's honestly not worth it for having so few amenities. Plus, you have to clean before you leave and you aren't given any cleaning supplies! Not even dish soap to clean up after yourself! So you have to go to the store to buy those too. Also, the floors were hardwood which isn't nice for sore feet after hiking. Furthermore, there are only 2 bunk beds and a pull out couch and the bed in the couch was horrifically uncomfortable (and LOUD!) Also, if you intend to drink some wine with your dinner, you'd better be prepared to sneak it into the building. Alcohol isn't allowed, which is highly inconvenient. Though the price was relatively reasonable, there's no way I'd ever rent from them again. EVER.

"Great location but the hotel needs to be renovated"

6.0

Let's start by the positive: The location of the hotel is pretty good, a short 5 minutes walk to Chamonix downtown. Unfortunately the hotel by itself is not what you would expect from a 3 stars. The cleanliness of the room was not acceptable... and we had to buy a cleaning kit in order to clean it at our arrival! The hotel is located next to a street with heavy traffic, then it was pretty noisy due to the bad isolation. There were several ridiculous hidden charges (e.g., 6 Euro/person for the towel). Finally, the customer service was extremely poor.
