Stella Maris Resort Club

The resort is 45 minutes away from the Deadman's Cay airport, which gives you an opportunity to see the beautiful scenery of the island. The staff is expedient and welcoming and can help you organise the shuttle from the airport as well as the tours around the island. The view from the room is amazing, especially at sunset and at sunrise. The rooms are clean, the food is amazing and it is a great value for money. You will feel safe as crime is basically non-existent. Definitely recommending the resort and coming back as soon as I can.

Bugs! Bring insect repellant and Benadrill cream as the sandflies are brutal.

The owners are open to new ideas so they organised a Latin dance night upon my arrival. The room was comfortable and quiet, the food was amazing and so were the drinks. The staff is kind and friendly. This time I rented a car and drove back to my favourite places, but I also went on a boat tour to the Cape Santa Maria Caves. Sadly, the sea was too choppy for snorkelling, but the view was majestic.

I had such a great time at Stella Maris. The people and service were wonderful. Food and drinks were great also. If you’d like a feel for what the old Bahamas must have been like, this is a great spot to go.

There was nothing I didn’t like about the property but if you go expecting the glitz and flash of a resort like the Atlantis, you’ll be disappointed. This was down home Bahamas charm.

The property is older and dated but very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent while the lunch and dinners were ok. Staff is friendly and attentive. It's off the grid and a perfect spot to disconnect

The most accommodating and friendly staff I have ever come across in all my travels around the world. Exceptional cleanliness, good food I cannot wait to go back and I don’t often go back to the same place but here without a doubt it’s on my list again. Thank you Stella Maris

Not a big thing at all - atmosphere in the bar area as it was quiet there was never any encouragement to have a drink but as I said I did not mind this as we would sit on our veranda in the evening and have a drink.

The property was probably nice at one time. It is in terrible condition now- plumbing awful, sheets don’t fit, water intermittent, no airport pick up service until we finally called, pools were awful, outdoor ping pong and pool table covered in mold and not playable, beaches were small and non-swimmable and there were no beach chairs or umbrella. Staff wasn’t helpful unless asked and they were pretty lazy. Guest information was non existent. The only decent thing was the chef was very good. I would not stay here again and would never recommend it.

Loved the staff and the food was wonderful. Only complaint was the walk up the hill to the restaurant. It was so rough I stepped in a hole and fell. The people were terrific and took us to a wonderful beach for snorkeling. We had a great time at the outdoor bar too.
