Motel 6-Carlsbad, CA - East Near LEGOLAND

Check in was fast and it was close to Legoland

This room was filthy. There was water seeping up from the floor in the bathroom. The floor hadn't been mopped in a while. The towel bar in the bathroom is flaking metal pieces on the towels.

i kill for roach from crawing out from under the bed. the showing had alot of rust on the tub and the sheet were stain.

A lot of homeless around the motel very noisy at night.

Location and value were great. Room was well cleaned and bed was comfortable. Very close to all the places we wanted to explore.

Bathroom smelled like cigarettes when the fan was running. We kept the fan off while showering to avoid the smell. We stayed closer to the freeway, so it was often loud but didn’t bother us too much

I liked that my dog and child stayed free, and that there were many places to eat within walking distance. The TV was a great size.

I paid for early check-in when I booked online. The woman at the front desk argued with me for 15 min about the $20 early check-in fee, even after I explained I already paid it when I booked and showed my screenshot. The room was tiny and cramped - barely enough space for 10-year-old child and I and our 15 lb dog. The bathroom door hit the toilet, so we had to stand to the side of the toilet to open/close the door to the restroom. Parking was awful - industrial trucks and cars parked illegally. There was no remote for the big TV. The dog areas were poorly maintained and just poo-filled dirt patches. This caused the floors to be filthy since there were no door mats. Window didn't open at all, so the air was stuffy and stagnant, even with AC running non-stop. There was a gross old man who constantly smoked in the doorway of a neighboring room. He left cigarette butts all over the walkway and parking spaces. His smoke wafted into my room so much that MY room began to smell like smoke. I could hear entire conversations/arguments from the room above, even with the steady freeway noise..
