Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Elkhart-South by IHG

I am a fan of Holiday Inn Express and use them frequently. This was a disappointment. We were there for five nights and housekeeping never entered our room. We had a late schedule and usually left our room between 10 and 11 AM. We would come back to a dirty room, go to the desk for towels, coffee and cups, and then empty our own garbage. I saw the housekeeper one morning at 10:30, no cart, no equipment, just him in the hall. I asked what time housekeeping quit working, he replied " We're done". At 9:30 the next day no housekeepers in sight anywhere. The person at the desk stated that they have had many complaints about this. So, this is their norm.

Last minute booking and price wasn't bad

It was so loud! You could hear everything in the other rooms. The first room I had smelled like a very old motel, and the heat wasn’t on. It was freezing in there. They moved me to another room, so at least the heat was now on, but I could hear everything going on in the room above me. It’s a very outdated hotel room for a Holiday Inn express. Also, nothing was plowed or shoveled. I had to walk through slushy snow to get to my car. I was there for two days, and the only thing shoveled was a very narrow walkway from the door to the parking lot, but nothing done anywhere else.

I stayed here because of deteriorating weather conditions, but its Elkhart so I opted for a reputable chain on the outskirts of "little Chicago." It was clean, but...... Walls are so thin I could hear the neighbors poop plop in the toilet. Standing in the room looking at the entry door, you could see light all the way around the door. The breakfast attendant was nowhere to be found, but then again neither were the plates, eggs, or napkins, and the oatmeal and the toppings were hard and crusty; except the cinnamon it poured out all over my beige work pants because the lid wasnt on all the way. Rest of the staff was great! Check in was terribly slow despite the reservation.

Clean property and room. Mattress was awful. No black out curtains or curtains just see through blinds. Made it hard to get dark to sleep. Staff superfriendly.

The pool was cold. The hotel looked and seemed like a sketchy hotel that was turned into a holiday inn. The worst part of the stay was I was double charged from booking.com and the hotel. I called holiday inn corporate got hung up on. The. I called holiday inn Elkhart and she was very helpful and I got refunded. The. The next day they recharged me again. Now I have to call back again. Very frustrating.

Location and breakfast was great!

No hot tub and fridge was t keeping cold and extra room in the suite was stuffy and hot. No air was getting in there.
